Stanton confirmed for HR Derby

Featured Replies

Foregone conclusion this year with it being his home ballpark. I guess they just had to make a formal invitation and he accepted. I wonder how often in the past the defending derby champion gets to defend in his home park and also how often the derby was won by someone from the home park team as well. But yea this is cool.

There have been two winners in their home ballpark-Ryne Sandberg (1990) and Todd Frazier (2015).

I wouldn't count out Bour making the game as a player or coaches pick, being on the hometown team sometimes prevails. But yes Bour in the derby with Stanton makes so much sense especially since he's a lefty it would provide a variety there. I wonder if Stanton has any say or way of recommending Bour. I don't think it's done this way anymore but I remember a few years back when the Derby participants were picked by a league captain.
