He was actually a decent signing at the time - even coming off a career season.  Keith Law, who despises everything Marlins, even pointed that out during one of his chats when the signing happened. 

 

But yeah, much like Chen - he ended up being atrocious.

He started off lighting the world on fire, April of 2014 he was near a 1.000 OPS, and then everyone realized, "well, he can't hit a fastball above the belt, soooo." After word of that got out, it was just ... the worst. And my goodness he could not hit lefties.

 

He went out (mostly) on his terms, so that's good for him. Hope he enjoys retirement. Seemed like a nice enough guy so maybe he'll catch on elsewhere in some role.
