Hanleylicious
He pitched a little with the Marlins in the bigs in 2001 I think it was, and sucked, to say the least.

Hanleylicious
I thought you were talking about Benito Baez Try to be more specific.
DTrizzle
it says he made 5 mill so he could be out of our price range
KJC
if this is the case then i am all for Baez as a reliever for us. i am a fan of his and i think he could be exactly what we need (spot starter and reliever)
flasportsfan88
I thought you were talking about Benito Baez Try to be more specific. :banghead Denys Baez was non-tendered by the indians. Wild Card
it says he made 5 mill so he could be out of our price range Look at his stats and tell me if he is worth anywhere near that. $2 Million sounds about right to me.
Hanleylicious
I thought you were talking about Benito Baez Try to be more specific. Does anyone know anything usefull about him. He's a big Righty that had a mediocre year last year. 2-9 even though his ERA was not awful. He's dominant vs. Righties and Lefties hit pretty well against him. And, he's out of our price range. Wild Card
And, he's out of our price range. Just because he made $5 Mill last year doesn't mean he'll make it this year. People, think.

I dont think he'd take a $3,000,000 or $4,000,000 paycut. and even if he were to do that, I doubt the Marlins would give him 1 or 2 mill. But thats just me. KJC
LCastillo, its not like he has a choice. he is a free agent meaning he takes any work he can get. i do not expect ANY team to give him $3 million +
Rune
i do not expect ANY team to give him $3 million + You'd be suprised, The Indians were getting offers for him right after The Series and they were for good players too. I think he'll get somewhere around 2.
flasportsfan88
Well hes cuban, theres always a paycut to play in miami, he didnt have a 5m a year season last year, and the markets not as high anymore, those guys arent going to ask for 5m again. Hanleylicious
I bet someone will pick him up maybe for 3.75-4 million and who would've thought the Tribe would've given him that kind of money(4-5 mill) after he went 10-11 or 10-12 with a 4.41 ERA in 2002. sure it's better than 2-9 but it's still not worth big money. Teams are willing to open up their checkbooks for anyone...thats my point.

Wild Card
I bet someone will pick him up maybe for 3.75-4 million If Mark Redman can't get $4 Million, there ain't no way in hell he will.
KJC
Teams are willing to open up their checkbooks for anyone...thats my point. if this was the year 2000 YES today NO. baseball economy is bad. just a thought: how would anyone give Danys Baez an inconsistent starter/reliever more than Armando Benitez? Benitez is days away from accepting the Marlins 1 year 3 million offer. last time i checked Benitez has over 100 career saves... :whistle
