Should be more for his caliber but hey good for him.

Lower leverage with 2 years of club control and then that's testing FA at 31 years old. Not old, but not like he's getting to FA under 30.

Also he got "crushed" on his first deal based on his production - 6/$36m with low options. Stuff of dreams right there for a franchise. I think it's smart for him to cash out with the FUCK YOU money right now even if there is a little more later. He hasn't gotten "paid" yet like some other guys - like Trea Turner has effectively made the same amount of money give or take $2m bucks with 2 full seasons less of service time. That's a big delta for a superstar. Better example. Before this deal SANDY(!) has more guaranteed money than Ramirez. Sandy! He's great but not Jose Ramirez great.

Anyways I am here for one reason - you trade anything to get a superstar as it is impossible to get them as their teams just extend them. Pitt can drop a  6/$75 or 7/$100 or 8/$125 today for B. Reynolds and we'd all be like.... yea that checks out.
