Tigers sign Jason Johnson

Featured Replies

Tigers signed RHP Jason Johnson' date=' who had been with the Orioles, to a two-year, $7 million contract. The Tigers are overpaying again. Even though Johnson has never had an ERA under 4.00 and his WHIP climbed all the way to 1.56 last season, the 30-year-old right-hander will earn $3 million in 2004 and $4 million in 2005. He does have pretty good stuff and he can be an excellent pitcher for a month or two at a time, but the Tigers are giving him twice what he's worth.[/quote']

WOW why is Dave overpaying for all these guys. What is he thinking? That White, Vina, Johnson are going to make them that better. lol

He very desperate right now.

People, they are picking up players that can be traded at the deadline to contenders for more prospects.

Yeah and there overpaying for them too. The pirates were smarter because they gave them one year contracts at a low rate.

This might actually make them contenders.

Probably not, but the Sox/Twins/Indians/Royals aren't that much better.

Yes they are. They are way better.

At least the Royals and Twins have good young pitching and some nice bats. Detriot have no bats and a couple of pitchers.

Whew, these below avg. teams are getting better and better as the days pass.

Jason Johnson isnt too bad of a pitcher. Now they got him and Vina.

Tigers VS Mets, World Series?

:p

dont be laughing at the mets too much because we all know they have enough money to get back to where they were a couple of years ago.
