January 8, 200422 yr I am eating mostly natural grain fed cow beef which is suppose to be safe. It costs about the same as hormone fed beef which may have been fed cow byproducts.
January 8, 200422 yr im not that worried myself due to the fact that its pretty hard to contract mad cow unless you consume parts of the brain or spinal cord. I just figure i will trust the farmers and the USDA and hope they are taking those parts out. Im not gonna let this dictate my meals.

However, UK is a beef eating country such as in stews, steak & eggs, etc. The Mad cow outbreak in the UK was severe, the U.S. is just in the early stages of detection of the disease.
