The season is quickly approaching and it looks like there will still be no Marlins on TV up here in Brevard County. It's dissapointing because I felt that the marlins run last year sparked some of the excitement the county used to have for them when they played spring training here. I really think that the Bright House and some of the local stations could have profited by bringing the marlins back to Brevard County.

I can't even visit my best friend in Cocoa (Brevard County) during the season. Only Marlins baseball is on a Melbourne radio station (but not always). And the local/regional paper, FLORIDA TODAY, has the worst sports section of any paper. Virtually no Marlins coverage.

I really feel for the Brevard County fans. Nice place to visit. Nice place to live. But, not in baseball season!

p.s. I do see my friend in Viero at the Expos ST facility, still with the teal stadium seats the Marlins left when they abandoned Brevard County. What kills me even more is that I can't even buy MLB Extra Innings or MLBTV on MLB.com because I live in marlins territory so the games are blacked out. I wouldn't mind buying either one of those, but I can't.

I know and I don't see that happening for me anytime soon. Hopefully WMEL will carry more games then last year, so at least I can listen to the games on the radio.

If you live anywhere in the State of Florida, you will get the 95 Fox Sports Net-Marlins games via Dish Network and DirecTV. I would call and see if they offer Fox Sports Net Florida only for like $5-10 a month. It may be worth getting a small dish just for the games.

That reminds me, Sprint has finally put a DSL line for me here in the Northern part of the Cape.

 

Fran, have you tried checking with Bellsouth for DSL? It is like $39 which is cheaper than the $45 for Road Runner and would allow you to switch to a small Dish.

Well, I meant on some occassions I could go there, not every night, and there is a Beef O'Brady's near my house, that's where I was thinking I could go.
