I'm embarrased

I usually despise, these big cheesy hollywood "retellings" of important events and I carried that stigma into the theatre with me on Sunday when I went to see Miracle.

I walked out amazed.

First of all, I used to consider Kurt Russell, the worst non-martial arts actor in hollywood, his replaying of Herb Brooks was amazing, from the voice, the passion and The Hair it was dead on.

Add that to a string of unknown but talented actors, playing the part of The 1980 hockey team. You get into the events, you know the ending but you still tense up or wait for the clock to tick down.

While sappy at times, this movie does deliver and delivers well...

I thoroughly enjoyed the movie, I thought they did a great job of making you feel like the game was being played Live. Overall, very cool movie.

You should see Used Cars. Kurt Russell was great in that. He usually sucks in action roles, IMO.

I wouldn't be embarassed, Rune. I saw it Saturday cuz I'm reviewing it for the school newspaper (I would've seen it anyway, but...), and I must say, I was impressed. Russell delivered big time, and I agree with Rune, those "hockey players turned actors" turned in a wonderful performance. The game-play was excellent too. Just an all-around good movie. Disney's last two sports movies (The Rookie and Miracle) have been awesome.

Yeah I also saw it on saturday. It was pretty good, I wouldnt say I was amazed but it was defintely the best hockey movie I've ever seen (havent seen many). The hockey scenes where the best I had ever seen. I mean it really got you into the game.

Only thing I found uneccesary and boring was the constant talk with his wife. It looks like they follow the same formula in all sports movies with the wife naggin hes working too much.

But overall if your a sports fan its a good watch.

:(

I'm afraid to see it because its rated PG. I don't watch anything unless its rated R because I'm afraid they will take out everything violent and or controversial in a movie. I'm not a fan of the f word or anything, but PG movies are usually not as dramatic.

So movies need to be violent or controversial to be good?

The Rookie was G I think, and that was a great movie by Disney. So is this one.

I don't think Disney has ever released a film under their name that is rated R.

The movie is amazing. I am a big hockey fan myself.

Sorianofan, don't hesitate in watching this movie. It's action packed and the directing is awesome. It keeps you at the edge of your seat. Plus, you learn a lot.
