Just because I'm up here in NY for school, I can tell you that the buzz I've heard around is that everyone loves the fact that ARod is a Yank, but they expect Boston to make a counter-move, and they've been conservative (Maddux) to ridiculous (trade for Randy Johnson :o ). But either way, I think that this "cold war" is far from over. Hell, George may just buy the other 28 teams and form one super roster just to screw with Boston

This means a trade must be set for lieber or contreras for a second baseman. I heard on sox boards they're clammering for a johnson trade...it would sure as heck fix their lefty problem, but johnson is better against righties I think.

I'm at NYU, but where have you heard this rumor? That's crazy stuff, and if it's true I guess they have a deal in place for one of the pitchers (Contreras probably but Lieber maybe) to go for a second baseman. Name I've heard a lot is Spivey but to me it seems the only thing they'd need to give the Brewers is an average prospect so that they shed even more payroll :o ... If the Brewers shed payroll to the Yanks, it'll be so symbolic...
