  1. Not to get deep into the Lomo vs Jones debate but with all of Jones's faults I "enjoy" knowing that he can crank one out any time any where even if he's in a slump.... As opposed to LoMo who I felt when he was off everything was off and he just came up flat more times than not. Agree 100%! And his defense was pretty bad too.
  2. More experimentation from Redmond. It's like if they lose this game, no big deal! At least he saved the bullpen!
  3. LoMo who? EXACTLY. Although Jones is terrible against lefties, and his Defense is shaky as hell, every time I wanna complain bitterly about him I just remember Lomo and his pathetic stats last year. There is no question that the team has upgraded offensively big time at the corners with McGehee and Jones.
  4. Would have rather seen McGehhee take a rip at the 3-0 pitch than walk. Jones has been awful. But maybe he's due too, I guess so! WOO-HOO!
  5. Would have rather seen McGehhee take a rip at the 3-0 pitch than walk. Jones has been awful. But maybe he's due too,
  6. Good work moving that runner up, Giancarlo. Yep; a productive out, at least. McGehee is due.
  7. Redmond does not manage like he's in a pennant race, PERIOD. The time to try out Dyson is with a big lead or if we are losing big. Give the kid a chance to get acclimated, and to see what he's got. But not Redmond! The other night he was going to bring in Slowey in a tie game in the 9th inning! But we scored a bunch of runs and made it academic.
  8. Yeah maybe not the time to throw Dyson in there... Redmond loves to do stuff like that. Remember the games that Marmol, Camineiro & Henry Rodriguez gave up big HRs in?
  9. Another example of Redmond managing like he's 15 games out in late September. I mean why experiment with a new relief pitcher in a tie game in the late innings? It's not as if Dunn & Ramos pitched a lot of innings yesterday.
  10. QUALITY START Not a bad start. Better than Turner would have done, of that we can be pretty sure.
  11. Its not an opinion. Your knee jerk reaction to 3 games notwithstanding, in the two seasons prior to being injured all of last year he hit .251/.314/.347 and had a 70% success rate in stolen bases(21 for 30). That is all pretty terrible. You're certainly entitled to your opinion.
  12. Except he cant really hit or steal bases anymore. Well, you're certainly entitled to your opinion. I think he's proven in the few games he's been back that he can do both (in the rehab games he stole 5 bases), and the Front Office seems to think he can. But hey, you might be right.
  13. Thank God. Descalfani is shaky. But he's gotten through 5.
  14. Yeah, I like Dietrich too. But the errors became a problem. Honestly, the errors and poor play of Jones at first base are a bigger problem. But we are stuck with both Jones and Furcal, and despite the fact that he is declining, he should help this team this year. He can hit and he can steal bases. And he can hit the occasional HR. I can't hate the guy.
  15. Furcal saves the day! I don't know why so many Marlins fans hate this guy. I mean I hate him for all the hits he always got against us!
  16. Yes! it's good to be...lucky!
  17. Marisnick is a different player than last year!
  18. Guys who say Stanton hasn't improved are crazy. Yeah, he still swings at bad pitches, but he does it a lot less and goes to RF more. Like I said, he is steadily progressing. He must be signed to a long term deal. He's the only guy in the line up that puts fear in pitchers' hearts!
  19. Before Stanton, who was the best pure power hitter you got to watch? I loved Harmon Killebrew of the Twins when I was a kid. Frank Howard was a pure power hitter too. Stanton has the potential to be better than Killebrew because he can run and hit for a higher average and still hit monumental HRs. And Killebrew is in the HOF with over 570 HRs.
  20. And don't get me wrong, I love the kid. Best pure power hitter I've seen in a long time, and I'm in my late fifties. I used to go nuts listening to Marlins fans who wanted Stanton traded. He is getting better every year and if he continues progressing, look out!
  21. In fairness to Stanton, I believe you could say this about any hitter. For most hitters that's true. But the really great hitters get hits off pitchers even when they make great pitches. Stanton is just 24 years old. He is still evolving. He might yet become a great hitter, the way he has progressed.
  22. McGehee is due for a HR
  23. Stanton is a good mistake hitter. If a pitcher makes a good pitch, he usually gets Stanton out.
  24. Hech just cant hit with RISP.
  25. Well, maybe the kid has regained his form..or whatever. Now we need to hit. Fortunately this team does hit! Go Fish!
