Much better. Dietrich has made two nice plays this inning. But Alvarez seems to be wearing down. Not because of number of pitches, but maybe because of too many innings where he had to really work to get out of trouble. They better have somebody ready, but I'm scared to think of who it might be. Dunn is half garbage & Jennings is pure garbage. Morris pitched a lot yesterday and might not be available. Hatcher also pitched some yesterday. Who does that leave? Gregg? Not good. I got a bad feeling about this game.

Ok, that was nice! Credit where credit is due! He makes the hard plays, but screws up the easy ones.

The only run that scored was the one Dietrich put on base. But all these wonderful defensive plays by Dietrich & Co. have increased Alvarez' pitch count to the point that he's unlikely to go much longer. So if Dunn or Jennings, or some other bullpen clown comes in and blows the game, that will also be on Derek Dietrich. And I actually do like the kid! If he was hitting, I'd be more willing to give him a pass on defense. But you can't be a bum defensively and a .240 hitter.

That's all I heard over here when Deitrich was in the minors, how much he was missed. But now that I've been here for a few games I'm starting to understand a few things. This board is mostly kids. So of course they are going to be big fans of other kids such as Dietrich and Heaney, etc.

Marlins are sabotaging Alvarez defensively tonight, but he is showing why he is the best pitcher this team has right now. Only Jose Fernandez is better, and he probably won't be back until 2016. Eovaldi needs to develop a third pitch, Heaney is a baby who still has mama's milk on his lips, Koehler is Dr. Schizo, one day he's good, the next day he's awful, and Desclafani looks like a possible candidate for the bullpen.

Since Yelich got hurt and the 1-2 hitters are Marisnick & Dietrich, unless he hits a HR, Stanton can't buy an RBI. Because nobody's on base when he comes up to the plate. He's had numerous hits, doubles, singles, but RBIs are hard to come by with Marisnick & Dietrich batting 1-2.
