6/29 Post Game
Wow this is new to me.....this tells me a lot. Yeah, I had forgotten about it, but canada marlin24 reminded me. I saw Redmond smiling & laughing and I said out loud "what the hell is so damn funny? You are about to be 4 games under .500". Seriously, I can't stand the guy..

Not sure why deduce is quotes, but let's keep "deducing" then. HA's fastball this year averages 1.5mph more than Heaney so you should probably do some fact checking before spouting off 5mph nonsense. Regarding pitches, HA mainly throws a 2 seamer, a 4 seamer, and a slider an occasional change-up. HA didn't develop that 2 seamer until last year, his 3rd year as a pro. Before that he basically threw the exact same thing Heaney throws right now which is a four seamer, slider and change up. I would take Heaney's slider over HA's right now in a heart beat, since you're so hell bent on comparing the two guys. Obviously, HA is currently the better pitcher, but it took HA years to develop into that. Heaney has shown he can be quite good in a small sample size so far. He's given up 3 homers, something he never really did in the minors. With that slider, Heaney will be just fine and I wonder what you're going to do with yourself once he figures it out. Ok, now we can talk! The guy said that Heaney has better stuff right now than Alvarez. Not that someday he might have better stuff. But that he has better stuff right now. Alvarez has touched 97 on the gun. Heaney maxes out at 93. Now velocity isn't everything, I'll grant you that. But Alvarez also has a much better assortment of pitches than Heaney does right now. It's not even close.

Hey Piazza, got room in your car for when we go meet this guy at Winn Dixie? LMAO! You ain't meeting anyone, anywhere! Guys like you are only tough behind the keyboard, and you know it. You're not a tough guy in real life; why act like one on line?

I'm not convinced you're an adult yet. LMAO. But you sure have proven that you are one. You guys make authoritative statements as if you are baseball geniuses, then get angry if someone points out that maybe you were a bit premature. So what? What's the difference if you were wrong? Listen, I have news for you: if you were really baseball geniuses you would be working for MLB. You guys are a bunch of suburban kids on the internet. Lighten up! LMAO

Good point. People like mcgehee should stand up and say f this crap and start riling these guys up. But yes great point about Redmond. I think McGehee knows he's not gonna be here too long; Loria is not going to sign him to a decent contract; he supposedly has Colin Moran to be the 3rd baseman of "the future". I remember another one of those 3rd basemen of "the future": Matt Dominguez. He is currently playing for Houston and hitting quite well.

Honestly, he was smiling in the bottom of the 8th like joking around. If that was me, I would be stone faced and even if we won I would still be pissed. Ah, you saw that too! Yeah, there was Red in the 8th inning, laughing and joking like he was on a 4 game winning streak!

Henderson Alvarez had a 5.91 ERA after his first 2 MLB starts and a 4.76 ERA after his first four. He had a 4.85 ERA in 187IP in 2012. Deducing anything from Heaney's first 3 starts is absolutely ridiculous and you should probably stop before you make an even bigger fool of yourself LMAO!!! We can "deduce" two things. He does not have better stuff than Alvarez; not unless he is suddenly going to add 5 MPH to his fastball and develop about 3 more pitchers, and he is not this team's savior. Tell me why little kids like you can't debate baseball without the insults? Must be cause online is the only place you can get away with it and not get slapped in the teeth. I guess this must be the only place on earth weak kids like you can run your mouths without getting bitch slapped, so I don't blame you.

Any takers that Redmond for the one billionth time this year will say in the after game conference, "yeah uh we kept battling but you know" "we gotta start figuring out how to get that big hit" Not from me. I can't even watch him grinning and aw shucksing his way through another press conference. The best thing would be for this team to lose another 15 in a row so that Loria would have no choice but to fire him!

Solano has been an awful hitter throughout his minor and major league careers. Awful? He has a .263 career average in the majors. Not great, but far from awful. His first year he hit .295! In 2013 his average with RISP was among the team's best. He hit .316 with RISP and drove in 29 runs in only 76 ABs. You DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT. Which seems to be par for the course for a good percentage of you guys. Sure, there are a few guys here who actually do know a thing or two. But there are also a lot of clowns who make authoritative statements without knowing anything.

I really do not understand what this organization sees in Donovan Solano. He has not had a good year. But take a look at his stats last year. He was one of the best Marlins with RISP. With one out and a man on 3rd, he had a high percentage of RBIs. Still, Deitrich should have had that last AB. But like I said, Red doesn't care! As long as they don't lose 100 games, he's happy.

Heaney is 0-3 with a 5.29 ERA. Somebody actually told me he was better than Henderson Alvarez. See, he knew thatb for a fact, even though Heaney hadn't thrown even one major league pitch. He knew because he said he'd been "following Heaney" for a long time. LMAO

Here's where things stand. Unless the Fish sweep the Phillies in the series starting Tuesday and they take off on about an 8-2 run, we can kiss this season goodbye. Unless they do that, they will definitely be Sellers at the Trade Deadline, which I am sure Loria would prefer. Then the only thing we will have left to talk about is who gets dumped at the Deadline. McGehee, Cishek, maybe Stanton? Oh, we will have one more thing to look forward to: Football Season.

I was shocked to see Solano at the plate. Can someone explain that ? I just don't get it....why no PH'er there ? Guess you haven't been paying attention to the way Redmond has managed this team all year long. He has never managed as if he had a team that was in a race or desperately trying to stay in one. If you are in a race you put your best pitchers in the game late when the score's tied or you have a lead. Not Marmol (twice) or Henry Rodriguez or Camineiro or Gregg or Jennings, or even Dunn, the way he's pitched this year. If you are in a race you put your best hitters in the game with a man on first and two outs. You pinch hit for lefties who can't hit lefties. See, Red doesn't care. As long as he doesnt lose 100 games again, he will be back. In fact I have heard some morons say he should be manager of the year! And Loria will be happy if the Marlins don't have to be Buyers at the Trade Deadline.

6/29 A's at Marlins
I don't think anyone was expecting him to save our season, just improve it a little bit. He hasn't done that yet, I'll give you that, but in time, after a bit more experience, he'll be good. I read a lot of stuff about the Marlins, not just this board. Trust me, a lot of guys were hoping he would save the season. Hell, they were calling for him to be brought up the minute Jose got hurt as if he could replace him!

Oh oh. Jennings? This is most likely going to get ugly. Our lefty relievers are pure garbage. I'm gonna go get something to eat. I hope it's not 7-2 when I get back.

I ain't gonna argue with you guys about Heaney. Three games in a row he gives up big HRs. He doesn't have overpowering stuff, and he still needs to learn how to pitch up here. Take the hit by Donaldson and Callaspo before the HR. He had been living low in the zone and the A's adjusted their swings because they are very good hitters. Mixing up pitches a little better will help him; Low, high, inside, outside. Everything can't be low or hitters will adjust. By the 6th inning the A's had figured him out. Anyway I'm not saying he won't be good; in fact I believe he will be. But all those guys who told me that he is better than Henderson Alvarez and others who expected him to save the Marlins' season were dreaming.

Wow...the Kid has a ways to go before he becomes a Major League pitcher. He's a great minor league pitcher, but it's a big step to become a good Major League pitcher.

Kid is pitching really well today. I think he had the jitters the first two starts. And man, is it ever good to have Yelich back1
