how can you figure that just because he is rehabbing and conditioning himself as a starter that it means that when he comes back he will immediately be a starter? AJ is a starter, so why would they get him in a different training and conditioning routine but that doesnt mean that when he is ready resume competitive pitching that he is ready to throw 80+ pitches a night but you dont want him to get out of a starters routine, so you train him accordingly Im betting that when he comes back he will throw every 4 to 5 days out of the pen for 1 or 2 innings thereby keeping in a starters routine and still easing him back in terms of pitch counts

wood led the NL in Ks last year, you dont lead the league in Ks and not be a power pitcher but as for the original question posed in Around the Horn I think the best way to answer that question is this if you had to choose between one of those two guys to get you a must win game who would you choose???? i think thats the best way to determine who is the better power pitcher because a power pitcher should be considered one that can dominate a game. especially one that is a must win examples of the best in that category bob gibson randy johnson sandy koufax doc gooden roger clemens so by that criteria I dont think theres any question that beckett is the guy. all those year long stats 200+ Ks, 20 win seasons are on the way if i was a GM and I ha my choice of any young pitcher to build around; itd come down to a coin toss between prior and beckett

I agree the half pujols thing has to go reason heres the logical sequence pujols is better than any other man (I can agree with that) but saying cabrera is only half of pujols and also half of mere mortal means that Cabrera can only be half of what Pujols is Id like to think that Cabrera could end up being more the way it is now its saying that Cabrera is a half rate clone if you're happy calling Miguel that, then thats fine but I think IT SUCKS!!!!

He was considered to have both the best fastball and curve of any pitcher in the draft last year he also is said to have a change up that is very good but never had to use it in high school I dont think he has a slider right now at least not from what Ive heard but his fastball tops out at 97 right now and his curveball is said to be a knees knocker
