1. What Das said... You can't make draft picks tradeable in a league without a cap. NBA and NFL can trade picks but they have a cap. In baseball you have the Dodgers spending 270M on payroll plus another 60M in dead money etc... They would just buy draft picks from teams struggling to shed salary like Marlins or whoever else. Wouldn't be good for the sport or the league or the fans
2. Can someone please hire a hooker or something that can secretly film Loria and frame him into saying crazy racist or homophobic type shit so we can remove him from the league and force him to sell like the NBA did with Sterling? That would be fantastic, thank you. Loria ain't never sellin' this cash cow. He gets an absurd return on his investment. When I say investment I mean when he bought the team because he clearly doesn't actually invest in the team. AKA lowest payroll in the league even when 15% of it is being paid by other teams.
3. It's the sound of Loria and Hill taking a shit on the fan bases hopes and dreams. that's track 1. Track 2 is the sound of a cash register repeatedly opening and closing making that cha-Ching sound $$$
4. How embarrassing that the league needs to step in and change rules because the team with the lowest payroll keeps doing shit to pay even less. Marlins have the lowest payroll at 69M which is 2M below Rays. And mind you we didn't pay for Haren or Gordon this year or 3M from Prado. So that puts us well below 60M, probably around 55M coming out of Lorias pocket. The Dodgers dead money alone is 60M and they just took on Morse. A team spent more money on players not on their roster than the Marlins did in terms of putting a winning product on the field. You take Latos and Morse and refusing to send money with Haren and we're going to end the season with a payroll around 50M... Mind you each team starts off with 80M from TV deals and shared revenue. Anyway... Keep trading them picks, need that cash money to sign Ian Kennedy next year
5. Latos AND Morse going to Dodgers? If morse is included we can't be getting any good prospects but at least it opens the door for Bour and money in next years FA
6. DD stuck his PP in Lorias BB so now he's stuck forever in AA
7. If we trade Prado just to give 3B over fulltime to McGehee over DD I'm gonna choke someone. Probably Vince. And Bour is a solid platoon guy or a cheap power option but I don't really want him as a fulltime starter at 1B. If we trade Ozuna for some legit SP, move Yelich to CF, trade Latos and Haren for some prospects and sign Upton to play LF and sign Zimmerman to go with Carrasco and Fernandez I'm fine going cheap with DD and Bour at corner infield spots. But the money better be spent wisely somehow. Gordon, Upton, Yelich, Stanton, Bour, JT, DD, Hech, pitcher pretty nice lineup. We fix the top of our rotation and get some pieces for our farm in the process as well. Signing Zimmerman and Upton wouldn't be cheap but we'd also be dumping Prados 8 (11-3). Morse would still be an issue however.
8. Ozuna deserved the demotion and we might as well keep him down there to avoid his Super 2 status. But I'm definitely happy to see him tearing it up at AAA. 322/365/576 line down there since demotion. Too bad we can't be this smart or insightful when it comes to Dietrich getting all the ABs that open up at 2B and 3B. And give OF at bats to gillispie! Our next Ruggiano. =S
9. This last Latos start wasn't overly inspiring. Was hoping for one last gem to make some team say fuck it and give something of value
10. Gotta put AJ Burnett up there. Infante at 2B. But I mean no one is really a huge loss other than Miggy. Having Miggy together with Stanton would've been a thing of beauty. And I can't remember the last time we had an above average 1B... Delgado? For one season at that... We've had such a hard time finding something that should be relatively easy.
11. Jeez didn't think it would get to that... And hope Haren pitches well tonight. Pump up that trade value baby
12. His walk rate is pretty awful which explains his high WHIP. K's tons of guys also but needs to work on control. Pretty much tried to get anything of value in return for Cishek, sure no one wants to pay Cishek 5-7M next year.
13. I'm fine with Prado. There are really no good options in FA next year to get a 3B. Much more worried about 1B and CF. Yelich and Realmuto have really improved, too bad it happened right around the time Stanton got hurt. Maybe they felt less pressure to perform now that we had no expectations? And as much as its 'fun' or nice to have Suzuki on the team we should really try getting a 4th OF with pop. If there's one thing that's become clear is that this team needs more power. I don't understand playing McGehee almost everyday at 3rd... So pointless. And Hendo should've had surgery weeks if not months ago
14. Latos has a 2.72 ERA with better K rate and velocity past 6 games after coming off DL. He has a great track record and little history of injuries. Think we're undervaluing his market a little but I could obviously be very wrong. QO might be the best way to go. I rather trade him and Haren and anyone else. Would love to see us sign someone like Zimmermann. A good 2-3 to put together with Fernie and maybe Alvarez (health permitting). We already have plenty of middling 4-5 SP type guys with Urena, Phelps, Cosart, TK etc... If we're not going to sign a legit SP might as well spend the money elsewhere. Still think our offense is more troublesome than our pitching but with Haren and Latos gone next year and Alvarez a constant injury risk, we need someone to pair with Fernandez for the playoffs. Zimmermann is the right age for a 4-5 year deal, shown success against division, reliable, won't be as expensive as Price or Cueto. That's my choice.
15. Hearing rumors that the Giants want to re acquire Morse... We'd have to eat a good amount of that salary. Would be nice, don't see how he's any better than Bour at this point. Be nice to finally spend some money to get a solid prospect in return but its Loria and the Flounders so won't happen
16. Yea but could we realistically get for Morse and Cishek? Throw in Lorias desire to never pay any salary to maybe improve on the return and you're left with ... ? Nada. If anything we'd have to give something away to entice someone to take on Morse at this point. He really has no value. Playing like shit, no pop, hurt his finger and now back, will be a year older... Cishek still has some hope but Morse... If we released him no one would pick him up, much less give us anything in return. Only shot is if he comes back tearing it up and someone desperately needs a L bat but I don't see it happening
17. So Dietrich has 3 errors in 11 starts if I'm not mistaken. Might want to hang on to Prado after all... Rojas offers absolutely nothing with the bat but I'm fine with him batting 8th from time to time to give a guy rest and play outstanding defense and just bunt when possible. Oh and this "The Marlins won despite going 1 for 10 with runners in scoring position, with Gordon's homer the lone hit. They've gone 2-5 on their homestand while batting 3 for 48 (.063) with runners in scoring position." That's not even Donovan Solano bad, that's some Jhonatan Solano shit. Oh and leave it to the Marlins to go 2-2 without Monsterdong in the lineup. We have Hech in the 3 spot. So that explains everyhing.
18. Good point on Gendry, forgot about that dude. They really worked his development and rapport with Arya and then all of a sudden he was gone. And yea it's grim that so many people are left for dead, but it also keeps us speculating hardcore and it leaves him and the writers with a ton of options about what to do next and show what first, etc. Too bad it's more than a year away from happening... Winter of 2016 if I had to guess? And if you watch that clip, first of all try not to fall in love with Emilia Clarke, I dare you. She's so amazing brunette. Anddd she pretty much gives it away that he's going to be resurrected. He has to be. She's the fuckin smokin' hot FIRE and Jon is the little bitch snow ICE or whatever.

Dexter

I loved the series and the culmination to season 4 was fantastic. I thought season 5 was OK, but after season 4 it's tough to follow that up. Season 6 had lots of fuck ups. Season 7 was a little bit better, around the same score for season 5. And then season 8 started out pretty solid but the last few episodes I couldn't stop rolling my eyes. I always had this 5 stars on netflix and put it down to 3 or 4, can't remember, solely because of the finale, that's how bad it was. If I was going to score it - S1 - 8.5 / S2 - 9 / S3 - 8 / S4 - 10 / S5 - 7.5 / S6 - 4 / S7 - 7.5 / S8 - started out around 7-8 but after last 2-3 episodes about a 2-3 does it. Hard not to say more without spoilers. And you already heard that it's all downhill after season 4 so. And you posted that in April. Did you finish it up? At that pace you probably finish it a month ago. What'd you think?
20. We should trade Latos and Haren. If we want Latos sign him again next year when he's a FA. If we don't show him the money won't matter if we trade him or not. And we should keep Capps and Ramos. Finally found a solid 8-9 inning combo, wouldn't want to trade that away. Keep them while they're cheap for a couple years and then trade them away, not now.
21. Cishek in just June 5.2 IP, 1 ER, 5K's, 7 hits, 2 BB's. (1 intentional ) That's pretty bad. And they aren't even in critical situations. He also inherited 7 runners and allowed 3 of them to score and allowed 2 stolen bases. He's pitching better but only because he was utter shit before. Now he's mediocre at best. We're paying 6.65M for a -4 RAR player. Him and Morse fucked us big time.
22. "Fox Sports' Jon Morosi reports the Marlins have received "multiple trade inquiries" on starters Mat Latos and Dan Haren."Morosi added that teams are also interested in Tom Koehler and reliever Brad Hand. With Jose Fernandez moving into the rotation this week, the Marlins have a surplus of starting pitching. Miami could use a power bat with Giancarlo Stanton (broken hand) out of the lineup. - Morosi tweet followed by Rotoworld blurb" ...wait what? Someone wants to trade for Brad Hand? Can we please throw in a Solano or two in that trade? And then there's this. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2506524-mlb-trade-deadline-2015-predicting-every-mlb-team-as-deadline-buyerseller/page/16 Anyway, curious to see who most of you think we should trade, even if it's for virtually nothing and what you're looking for in return. Think most of us will agree we need to trade Dan Haren. He's performed the best and no way he comes back next year and we also won't pay him. Doesn't make sense to hold on to Latos either. Mostly curious to see who here thinks we should trade Martin Prado. Think it'll be pretty divided. I think Prado is a great guy to have if you have a LF and 1B and CF giving you some power, which we don't... I don't know if we hold on to him and see if Ozuna and Morse rebound, but with this lack of power, seems like we need more juice from 3B. But the 3B FA pool next year is awful. I want to see what we have in Dietrich and give him more at bats but Prado is too solid of a guy to just trade away. Morse and CIshek's trade values are all too low, we're better off waiting to see if they rebound and either trade them next year if we have a replacement or ride the wave. If we can get a solid arm or prospect for TK, Cosart or David Phelps, do it. Just trade one away of course, simply due to the fact that our farm system is pretty depleted and we have far too many 4-5 type starters, fringe 3 guys at best. I think they're solid back end starters for us behind Jose, Alvarez. If we can get anything for Hand, do it. And I also want to shut down Alvarez for the year and operate and fix his shoulder.
23. I was like 'this can't be happening' when Snow was taken out back. I kept waiting for Davos or someone to interrupt and he'd be healed like after he was shot by the arrows from his wildling lover. But after it shows him pretty much dead, I can't get the idea out of my head that Melissandre was at Castle Black for a reason, afterall she could've gone anywhere else, and she's going to bring him back. Beric Dandarrion style. I always felt like Melissandre was using Stannis to complete her goals, I'm not just not sure at what's driving her and what her ultimate goal is. But the Stannis Melissandre bond always seemed one sided to me. Such a great episode. So many people dead or left for dead, but until I see someone's head roll I don't fully believe it. Am I really supposed to expect that Brienne of Tarth mowed down a would be king while he lay injured on the ground? I don't know, she's too honorable for that. Maybe she did, maybe she didn't. Maybe Bronn somehow has some elixir that he can give to Myrcela. But I think she's dead. Sansa and Reek jumped off a wall 30 feet high into the snow, who knows what happened to them, hopefully Sansa is alive and Reek landed on a boulder and is dead. Two dumb broads died, first Stannis' wife and then Ramses pyscho broad. So that was sweet. Oh and I love that Varys is back. Him and Tyrion's conversations are the best, only duo better was Arya and Clegane (hound). And how fast did Cercei's tears of sadness and shame turn into tears of joy when she saw the Mountain? Can't wait for the Sparrows to get theirs. And hopefully Khalessi takes all those horses and new found followers (I think) and cleans out the Harpies. If both those things happen, I'll be ok if somehow Snow doesn't come back. Although I've always felt that Fire and Ice were Khalessi and Snow. They're the two vital characters. If they don't bring him back early next season I'll be continuously shocked. But Martin hasn't even finished writing the 6th book yet so... <SIGH> we'll see... Guess I'll actually have to watch some Marlins games to keep myself entertained until then.
