  1. I mean, have some respect. Everyone thinks this franchise is a joke precisely because of what is happening today. The new owner was supposed to remedy that, not reinforce this narrative. Yea, loria fucked up the future. But the new owner was supposed to have the ability to, at the very least, uphold (or create some) dignity for the franchise. Jeter basically wants to burn down the team and create a new one. Basically a baseball version of colonialism. Fine, Jeter can build his new franchise on the ruins of the Marlins, but I'm just not interested.
  2. I could really care less who "we" get back. This is so utterly despressing. Jeter has shown no regard for "us," so so who cares what "we" get back, because I'm done. Enough is enough. If MLB couldn't find a serious owner for the Marlins, what's the point continually playing this heartbreaking game?
  3. Except conducting a firesale is exactly what the past ownership groups did. So we're supposed to trust Jeter to finally do it the right way, while he's still employing Loria's GM? No thanks. Also, conducting a massive sell-off is the absolute wrong way to endear yourself to a city tired of sell-offs. The right move was to send a strong message in word and action that they were investing in the team. Instead, they seem to have no PR plan and are again trading away a franchise player. This is a disaster.
  4. Two problems: the bullpen sucked (facilitated by poor decision making by Mattingly) and the lineup did jack shit in extras (facilitated by Mattingly's double switches).
  5. Don't understand why we let Koehler face the Nats given all the flexibility in the rotation.
