Posted August 9, 20168 yr Crazy game. But ultimately this was blown by the bullpen. Not going to pin this on Cashner, game should have been over with a 4 run lead.
August 9, 20168 yr Fuck Cashner. Easily my least favorite player on the team, and actually the only one of the three trades that I didn't like. Whatever, it's a marathon, not a sprint so bounce back and keep fighting.
August 9, 20168 yr Two problems: the bullpen sucked (facilitated by poor decision making by Mattingly) and the lineup did jack shit in extras (facilitated by Mattingly's double switches).
August 9, 20168 yr Pathetic. And I dont get why Mattingly didnt walk Crawford. If there was ever a time to do it that was it. Two inexcusable losses in the last week. Should be 10 over and August is not the time to start blowing 3 and 4 runs leads.

August 9, 20168 yr Meanwhile the Dodgers are getting a firm grip on the first wild card spot. Crawford did everything. Besides the 7 hits, he made that play on the Yelich liner and by some miracle was able to get to the ball Dee hit up the middle to get an out.
August 9, 20168 yr Stanton and Ozuna AB's were just awful to watch. Swinging at sliders away trying to end the game. It was plain as day that if Yelich couldn't get the big hit the Marlins had no shot. The bullpen has carried a hugh burden this year in sustaining our W-L record . Feels like the beginning of the end if they are indeed cracking.
August 9, 20168 yr I don't care how well x y and z pitch if the guys before them are giving up hits to guys left and right without getting a single out (looking at you cervenka). It's always something with this team. Jose pitches decent but true aces need to pitch 7-8 every night out. We had the lead, gave it up all at once, took the lead, and then allowed them to tie it again. It's infuriating watching our hitters swing at pitches we all know are coming. Fuck!!!!!!! I need counseling
August 9, 20168 yr I hate that I love the Marlins. I hate that I fell in love with a team 20 years ago before I knew any better. As a kid you don't think about things like having a good front office, a good owner willing to spend money year in year out, etc. It's pathetic that we get to watch our team have a glimpse of hope to make the playoffs every ten years or so and then watch them implode the way they do. In the last two weeks alone there are 4-5 games that we 99% should have won. We are now tied with the cardinals, who have half the talent we have but bc of their management they have a shot year in year out.
August 9, 20168 yr According to Craig Davis Yelich was limping and had ice pack on right ankle after the game.
August 9, 20168 yr Dunn is better than cervenka. I can't believe the marlins actually traded for that guy.
August 9, 20168 yr According to Craig Davis Yelich was limping and had ice pack on right ankle after the game. oh that would be icing on the cake.
August 9, 20168 yr 0-3 in our last 3 Jose starts isn't going to get it done. Part of the problem is his inefficiency.
August 9, 20168 yr Part of the problem is his inefficiency. we're blaming jose because the "lefty specialist" cant get lefties out because he sucks?
August 9, 20168 yr we're blaming jose because the "lefty specialist" cant get lefties out because he sucks? Reading comprehension helps. I said "part of" didn't I? Would it not have helped to have him in the game longer? I didn't blame him so you can put your pitchfork down and spend more time reading and comprehending

August 9, 20168 yr Glenn Geffner ✔ @GlennGeffner 42 players used (21 #Marlins, 21 #SFGiants) and 480 pitches thrown (283 by 9 @Marlins pitchers) over 14 grueling innings.
August 9, 20168 yr According to Craig Davis Yelich was limping and had ice pack on right ankle after the game. Not good news
August 9, 20168 yr oh that would be icing on the cake. You must like actual shit smeared on top of your cakes.
August 9, 20168 yr I still can't believe they let Crawford beat them again for his 7th goddamn hit. After the fiasco last Wednesday in Chicago loading the bases and then issuing a walk and a wild pitch to lose, I think we had to pitch to Crawford rather than load the bases and potentially lose the same way again?
August 9, 20168 yr I still can't believe they let Crawford beat them again for his 7th goddamn hit. I don't agree with a walk there no matter how hot Crawford was.
