  1. Of course. As the admin of a place called Marlinsbaseball.com itโ€™s part of the job description to not doubt them.
  2. How fun. The Marlins have the worst team in MLB and the best pitcher in MLB at the same time. This feels like when a superstar player who was hurt has to make some rehab games in AA so he plays a few games down there. ๐Ÿ˜‚
  3. Dont forget he studied Sabermetrics at university!
  4. Well I have small solution for the game. MLB app has something called mlb at bat where they show the feeds of 4 games simultaneously on the screen and rotate between audio feeds. But at least can see the video. Just watched the bottom of the 1st.. yeah.. actually donโ€™t feel that bad the app isnโ€™t working. ๐Ÿ˜‚
  5. Itโ€™s ok man. Thereโ€™s no shame in tuning in out of curiosity. I know that this year you only plan on watching between 0-2 games. But itโ€™s opening day so you get a free pass and it doesnโ€™t count against your whole โ€œIโ€™m not watching any games this seasonโ€ stance. Actually with mlb tv down you might be one of the only ones here actually able to watch it. ๐Ÿ˜‚
  6. Yeah Mlb.tv is down. Seems to be a system wide tech issue. How fun for it to happen on opening day. Iโ€™m sure theyโ€™re aware and it will be fixed soon. But might miss the opening pitches. ๐Ÿ˜‚
  7. Can you imagine if the Marlins start off the season terrible and they have a fire sale ๐Ÿ˜‚and they lower the payroll down to like 28 mil. ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚
  8. Well.. a lot of Sports fans have a ton of optimism.. especially at the beginning of the season which causes them to temporarily ignore logical thinking. Somehow in some peopleโ€™s minds it kind of feels like a clean slate from the previous year and all teams will start with an 0-0 record so hypothetically speaking there is always a chance that any team has the possibility to have an amazing, even surprising season and shock everyone and make the playoffs unexpectedly. Usually after like a month or so reality will settle in and fans will begin to lower their expectations when they realize that their team will definitely not make the playoffs. I think last year it was on the day the Marlins traded Arraez and they had a 9-24 record. Probably a lot of people were deep down inside thinking โ€œyep.. another losing season.โ€ But you know.. even though lately I have been making a lot of posts here with my predictions of 100+ loss season which I think is an actual realistic possibility seeing all the factors in place. I still for a minute might feel a little bit of that crazy optimism on opening day. The same optimism I used to have back in the 2005-2010 years with the good teams on the field and really feeling like anything is possible at the start of the season. ๐Ÿ˜‚
  9. Thatโ€™s a fair point! Although even just looking back at 2024 opening day lineup in general. That lineup seemed stacked in comparison. C - Nick Fortes 1B - Bell 2B - Arraez 3B - Burger SS - Tim Anderson LF - Nick Gordon CF - Jazz Chisholm RF - Jesus Sanchez DH - DLC Crazy that itโ€™s already been one year and well how fast that team and the season fell apart. Because on paper that looked like one of the most solid lineups the Marlins had in years as most of us expected TA to play decent and for Jazz to have an all star season etc. Ugh.. I donโ€™t want to think about last season. Or this season. ๐Ÿ˜‚
  10. Yeah that was a great article. This was my favorite part: Yeah he pretty much articulated what so many of us have been saying now for a long time but especially over the past year or so. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ
  11. Probably theyโ€™re gonna have a picture hanging on the wall of @SongInTheAir post where he predicted that they will only win 9 games in 2025 and when they finish 53-109 they will be like โ€œsee we won a lot more games than people thought we would.โ€
  12. Thatโ€™s a random tidbit. But yeah idk Rojas always gave the impression to me of someone a little too big for his britches. Honestly he wasnโ€™t talented or experienced enough to be that guy who self appoints himself a โ€œclub house leaderโ€ and decided it was his job to teach Jazz some humility. Doesnโ€™t mean that the clubhouse leader has to be a great player or anything. It could even be a veteran whoโ€™s past their prime years but just having that presence around makes them a natural clubhouse leader like Lenny Harris in 03 or Wes Helms in 06 or even someone like Maybin, Martin Prado or Curtis Granderson. I canโ€™t imagine any of those guys cutting up Jazz shoes with sissors to put him in his place. ๐Ÿ˜‚ Anyways.. glad all those players are gone! Had to make room for a new group of players who will gidp with the bases loaded and one out when down by 2 in the 8th inning.
  13. I know right. Guess how easy it would be for the owner or front office to go and make a definitive statement that โ€œSandy will not be traded in 2025.โ€ And that would settle the issue once and for all. But no, got to keep an ear out for all offers available. You know thinking about the future success of the team and stuff. ๐Ÿ˜‚
  14. The best lineup the Marlins have had since Sherman took over? Everyoneโ€™s opinion is valid of course. But come on.. letโ€™s talk about that September of 2023 lineup... C - Nick Fortes 1B - Josh Bell 2B - Luis Arraez SS - Garrett Hampson 3B - Jake Burger LF - DLC CF - Jazz Chisholm RF - Jesus Sanchez DH - Jorge Soler Bench - Gurriel, Jon Berti, Garrett Hampson, Stallings, Wendle. That basic lineup, which of course switched around a lot with Hampson getting a lot of playing time that month in the outfield and SS went 16-10 in Sep of 2023 and of course made the playoffs as we all know. And even with some duds in there like Stallings and Wendle getting playing time.. I donโ€™t think the current lineup is even close. I mean I absolutely appreciate the guyโ€™s optimism for the upcoming season and respect his opinion. But come on, best lineup since Sherman took over? ๐Ÿ˜‚ If the current starting lineup in 2025 with Sanchez and Norby healthy has a 16-10 or better month then I will be the first to admit it. I mean I could even make an argument about the 2018 lineup that had JT Realmuto, Starlin Castro, Bour, Dietrich, Rojas, BA, and Martin Prado etc as being an overall better lineup than 2025. Itโ€™s just one random guy on twitter making an opinion and Iโ€™m just one random guy on MB.com making my opinion. So who cares?
  15. Bro.. I appreciate the optimism but.. no.. not even a 2006 team but slightly worse here. Yes, 2006 was very unproven going into the season and we really had no idea how things were going to turn out with Hanley and Uggla and Mike Jacobs and Willingham etc as well as the rotation with JJ, Nolasco, Anibal Sanchez etc. But donโ€™t forget that year the Marlins still had Miguel Cabrera and D-Train who just came off a 22 win season in 2005. Also the bench was stronger than this current team. With Wes Helms, Amezega and Cody Ross. Not to mention a strong closer in Borowski and veteran relief pitcher Herges. So while it was definitely unproven going into the year. It wasnโ€™t as barebones overall as this season will be. Because we at least had some idea that Hanley was going to have a chance to be a potential star player from his time in the Red Sox farm system and we kind of knew a little bit about Mike Jacobs from the Mets and Olivo etc. I wasnโ€™t a Marlins fan in 1998 but from what I know about that year.. it seems closer to a 2025 Marlins vibe than 2006 does. Actually if you want to get specific with a comparison just look to last season when the Marlins finished 62-100.. and that was with Burger, Bell and Jazz for most of the season as well as Arraez for the first month and the Marlins finished the season with a lot of the same players that will be full time players in 2025. Now granted you can make the case that Sandy was out last season and that affected things. Fair point. However, back in 2022 when Sandy won the CY Young award and had an amazing season, the Marlins still finished the year 69-93. Showing that thereโ€™s only so much that Sandy can do on his own to help the team. So with all that in consideration and seeing how last yearโ€™s team finished 62-100 even with playing most of the season with Bell, Burger and Jazz and even though Sandy returning and some of the new acquisitions will offset some of the players that left. I still think the team might be slightly worse overall than last year when they lost 100 games. With everything in perspective, my prediction of 53-109 stands. I hope I am wrong. (No, @Michael I donโ€™t want to hear โ€œyou are wrong. 89 lossesโ€.) ๐Ÿ˜‚
  16. Team Record: 53-109 Leaders in each category below (totals in parantheses) - Hits: Edwards (158) HR: Mervis (21) RBI: Conine (82) Runs Scored: Edwards (91) Stolen Bases: Edwards (61) Wins: Cal Quantril (10) Losses: Cal Quantril (18) Saves: Faucher (18)
  17. If the Marlins only win 47 games in 2025 but have a closer with 15 saves by the all star break that would be the most impressive thing. ๐Ÿ˜‚ Assuming the Marlins would have around a 22-74 record by then and with probably how many bullpen games they might have I could picture saves being spread out with multiple people having like 2-4 each. But well letโ€™s get Fucher in the All Star Game before heโ€™s traded!
  18. Iโ€™m assuming your summer house in the Hamptons.
  19. At the time they trade Sandy?
  20. Should be at least (23). I mean if every starter besides Sandy will have 0 wins and 0 wins for all relievers since all 9 wins on the season will be Sandy starts. Every single pitcher besides Sandy will have an 0-? Record. Sandy will probably be like 9-7 by the time he is traded and the Marlins will Lose every single other game on the season. Quite a creative thinker! And while I donโ€™t think they will lose 153 games. I could easily see them losing 110+. I mean last year the White Sox lost 121 games. And I think the Marlins have a real chance of losing more games than that. ๐Ÿ˜‚
  21. I appreciate the optimism on Sandy and Edwards! Most of those predictions seem about right. Is Sandyโ€™s 15 wins including the wins he will have on the new team heโ€™s going to?
  22. By September 3rd?
  23. September 2nd?
