  1. The NFL will announce today that the Miami Dolphins will play the Steelers to kick off the season Thursday night, Sept. 7, at Heinz Field. The Dolphins, who did not make the playoffs last season, last week acquired quarterback Daunte Culpepper from the Minnesota Vikings. The Steelers' players and coaches will receive their Super Bowl rings that night. http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/06086/677150-66.stm My how things change from season to season.
  2. I think with a healthy Wade, Shaq and Zo we will beat them in 6. We lose in game 7 with a couple minutes reamaining and then we add Jason Williams, Gary Payton, Derek Anderson, James Posey, Antoine Walker and Wayne Simien. Add that to Wade, Haslem, Shaq, Zo and Shandon Anderson.. I honestly can't see us losing to Detroit this year.
  3. Hey, check this out. I was searching youtube for some new Ronnie Brown videos and saw this was just added on the 20th. I didn't make it but whoever did make it did a good job. Maybe someone from FinHeaven. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hD9ACSzs93U...=Ronnie%20Brown
  4. Bah, I can't stand my cell phone. It takes me 2 hours to get text messages if I am lucky. Most of the time they don't even come through anymore.
  5. I heard on the local news preview that one of our allies sent a strong message to North Korea and they showed something getting blown up. I can't find it on the website and am still waiting for the report. Any idea who and what one of our allies did?
  6. Ronnie is probably pumped about running behind Beasley next year. He will have a monster season.

Miami Hearald and Pat Riley confirm Miami Herald - According to the Miami Herald, Heat coach Pat Riley said after the team's loss to the Detroit Pistons that backup big man Alonzo Mourning had a torn calf muscle and that he would be out an indefinite amount of time. 'It's a tremendous loss to us, man,'' Udonis Haslem said of Mourning. ``He's one of the guys that we can count on every night, whether he's making shots or how much time he gets.'' Hopefully we give Earl Barron a shot at backup center. Wouldn't mind seeing what he can do.

Hopefully the Heat can give me a win for my birthday present.
  9. LOS LUNAS, N.M. -- A teacher at a Los Lunas elementary school was not in class on Monday--she was in jail. Now, her classroom may have to be tested and treated for possible toxins left by the drugs. Joanna Chavez, 37, was arrested after making a late night trip to her Valencia Elementary classroom, allegedly with methamphetamine in her purse. A sheriff's deputy was doing a routine patrol here about midnight when he noticed two cars parked at the gate. One of those cars belonged to a man they know has a long criminal past. The deputy watched as a woman came outside. That woman turned out to be first grade teacher Joanna Chavez. The deputy says her company immediately raised suspicion. He quickly called district officials and got permission to search Chavez classroom. Deputies say they found several baggies of methamphetamine in the teacher's purse. Chavez was arrested and charged with possession and intent to distribute. ?It's very disturbing to the department and the investigating deputies,? says Valencia County Undersheriff Bill Martinez. ?This is?not normal behavior for a teacher at any stretch of the imagination.? The Deputy Superintendent for the Los Lunas School District, Bill Moffet, says he can't say what if any action has been taken against Chavez at this point. Moffet says it is a personnel issue that is being handled with an on-going and expeditious investigation. However he told News 13 ?lets just say she's not going to be in the classroom right now.? Another story... SANTA FE -- A former teaching intern has been sentenced to four years' probation for duct-taping a Santa Fe sixth-grader to a chair and taping his mouth. Alice Yuen, 41, was sentenced yesterday by state District Judge Stephen Pfeffer in Santa Fe. Pfeffer also prohibited her from teaching students below the tenth grade during her probationary period. Yuen pleaded no contest to one count of child abuse last January 24th. The plea was part of a deal with prosecutors. Yuen had been indicted last August on eight counts of child abuse and two counts of false imprisonment. She was accused of duct-taping eight boys to their chairs and in some cases duct-taping their mouths last May at Chaparral Elementary School
  10. Well today I was taking a bath and the water started to drip and I was worried that it was like telling me to hurt someone. Then birds outside my window were making nose and I was worried that they were telling me to hurt someone. They weren't like talking to me but I was just worried what if they were trying to tell me to do something. That's why she thinks I might have Schizophrenia . But she also thinks I'm just jumping from thing to thing to make myself depressed. Like a couple of weeks ago I was worried that I was gay(I'm not) but I just kept worring about if I was gay or not and that was all I could think about. Then I was looking at a magazine and this chick on the cover looked like she was crazy and all I could focus on was seeing if people had that crazy look. My mom thinks I just need to get out of the house more and that will help me. Since I went to the hospital I haven't really been going out alot. The day I had my nose bleed and everything was the day I quit my job so I haven't been around that many people. But all these thought I have been having lately have been because I started to worry about having these really bad thoughts in the first place. All I could think about was that Ammityville(SP)? horror movie. That got me a little freaked out too. I have been depressed lately because of my dad. He died when I was 10 from a brain tumor and I have been thinking about him quite a bit. Then I started to think what I would do if I lost my mom and I didn't have any parents left. My mom said I got really wierd like this when my dad first died. I don't know, I'll keep praying to God as well. I know he will help me when he is ready and that I am going through this because he has got a plan for me and this is part of his plan. I also know he wants me to be happy and that I am really hurting myself by just being depressed all the time but I just can't seem to shake it. Oh yea, btw. After I asked you guys to pray for me, my mom and I decided to drive around the neighborhood and talk. But after a couple of minutes we decided to jump on the highway. Well, after a couple of minutes on the highway a dog comes out of nowhere and walks right in front of our car. Keep in mind we were doing 50 mph.. I put my hands over my face as soon as I saw the dog and my mom tried to move into the other lane but we still hit it.. hard. That did not help my depression at all.. I just really think we are being tested.
  11. Hey everyone, I have been going through a really rough time. About two months ago I was in the hospital for 2 days because of a nose bleed we couldn't stop. I got out of the hospital and a day later I went back because I was having chest pains. They thought I had a blood clot so they ran so test on me and the test came out negative. Since then I have been very depressed. Lately I have been having so really wierd thoughts. I am going to the shrink this week. My mom thinks I might have schizophrenia(SP?). Please pray that I do not have it and it is just depression. If the doctor says I might have it, please pray that God lays hands on me and helps me through this. This is a very scary time for me. I'm sitting here trying not to cry my eyes out. So please if you can just pray that I get through ths. Thanks.
  12. ESPN.com's John Clayton reports the Miami Dolphins have agreed to a four-year, $12 million deal with free agent CB Will Allen (Giants). Included in the deal are guarantees of $5 million. We don't need a cb in the draft anymore. Hopefully we can start working on that Dline or get a safety in Michael Huff or Darnell Bing.
  13. I'm still working on my bracket.. 8 hours in and I have only got 2 regions done, heh. I got Texas and Gonzaga in the final four.. No idea who I am gonna pick to win the other two regions.
  14. right now on espn news. We will officially announce Daunte Culpepper as a member of the Miami Dolphins. Woo!
  15. Reports from Boston have former New England Patriots Linebacker Willie McGinest ready to visit with the Dolphins. Culpepper and McGinest in back-to-back days? That would be so awesome. I :notworthy to Saban if he can make this happen.
  16. Looking forward to seeing Culpepper and Ronnie in the same backfield.. I think some big named free agents are gonna start coming to Miami now that we are a very serious contender. Give me LaVar Arrington and Chris Hope!
  17. Plan C for the Dolphins!.... If a deal with quarterback Drew Brees can not be reached, several sources have indicated that the Dolphins are in hot pursuit of Falcons quarterback Matt Schaub, the 6-5 backup to Michael Vick. Schaub, who's in the final year of his three-year rookie $1.85 million contract, has started two games in two seasons. The former third-round pick out of Virginia drew rave reviews when he started the fifth game of this past season and completed 18 of 34 passes with three touchdowns and no interceptions in a 31-28 loss to the then-defending world champion Patriots. "There's been phone calls but nothing that has made us reconsider where we are, at least at this point," Falcons General Manager Rich McKay told the Atlanta-Journal Constitution. "We like the player, and he plays a very important position. From our position what it would take would have to be very strong." A source said the Falcons have received inquiries from several teams this offseason for Schaub, but it would take "a high pick" to possibly get him.
  18. Is anyone else excited about this? I know it is not as popular as the mens but it is still very interesting. Hopefully UNM gets some respect this year.
  19. Someone that goes to school at Nova posted at Finheaven that there are a ton of news vans and camera crews outside of the Dolphins HC today(something along those lines). Hopefully they think we will announce the signing of Brees or trade of Culpepper soon.
  20. 49ers signed WR Antonio Bryant to a four-year, $15 million contract, including a $5 million signing bonus. The good news? He's a No. 1 receiver. The bad news? He's on the 49ers. Alex Smith needs to improve greatly for Bryant to break 1,000 yards again. Still, Bryant is likely to be a useful WR4 at worst in fantasy leagues because he will pile up pass targets.
  21. I am pumped about the Shelton signing. Nice move by Saban.
