You get from Melbourne to Miami-Dade County in 3 hours! FHP be darned or not eh? From here it is a straight shot down I-95 to Jupiter and then cross over to the Turnpike and down into the stadium. The extra distance to downtown, fighting downtown traffic and looking for a parking space, then hoping your car will still be there when you return, would not be worth the aggravation after a 3 hour drive. From here it would be easier to spend the 3 hours and go to Tampa, park at the stadium and sit in 72 degrees and watch the game. But of course I would rather see the Marlins, than the Devil Rays.

Anywhere south of where it currently is now, would end our trips to games. It is a 3 hour trip to the game now for us, from Melbourne. Parking is a very important issue and a downtown stadium, that location would create a bad parking problem. We used to have going to hockey games, at the Miami Arena, that was a nightmare.

Hialeah Mayor Julio Robaina said he thinks Hialeah is a better option for reaching Marlins fans in Palm Beach, Broward and Miami-Dade counties because of its proximity to southwest Broward. The best option is Pompano Beach, right in the center of the 3 county area. As the population grows northward, it will make even more reason to put it there.

Just want to see one built anywhere north of the current location. It is currently a 3 hour drive for us, living here in the Melbourne area, to go to games. Anything north of the current location, would be a plus. Anything south would probably end our trip to games. Many people from this area go over to St Petersburg to see the Devil Ray games, and maybe if the stadium was further north of its current location they might go down to Marlin games instead. I have been to a few Devil Ray games and it is really nice to sit inside a domed stadium at 72 degrees, on a hot summer day. Devil Ray games are not as exciting as Marlin games though. But got to admit even though the Devil Rays can't beat many teams they sure have the Yankees number this year. Winning 9 out of 13 games so far. :marlins

Where has that pitching been all season???

They need a centralized location much like JRS. Palm Beach county may build the stadium but who is going to go? This doesn't apply to everyone but it seems Palm Beach fans are just as bad, if not worse, than Miami fans. But as long as the Marlins are down here still I am ok with it. 856331[/snapback] I guess you live in Miami area. Up here in Melbourne (where there are plenty of Marlin fans) we feel the opposite of you. Currently we make trips to JRS for games. But we are all pretty much in agreement, if a stadium is built any further south than JRS we will stop going down there. It is about a 3 hour trip each way for us. Any place north of JRS is fine with us. You need to realize that the population in SE Florida is on the move north and the center is moving along with it. Actually I like going to JRS, it is very easy getting in and out of. Believe me that is good compared to many stadiums. We were in Fenway Park, there you have some of the worse conditions, I have ever seen. We had to park about a mile from Fenway, and hope your car was still there after the game. Fenway itself is an old run down place. We paid around $50.00 for a seat, that was designed, in the early 1900s, for a midget, and was behind a steel beam. Those people need a new stadium also. Where ever they build it, if they ever do. Parking needs to be a MAJOR consideration. My understanding of where they proposed to put it, in Miami, doesn't offer much along that line. Years ago I stopped going to UM football games after my car was broken into during a trip to a game, because we had to park away from the Orange Bowl. Don't get me wrong that can happen anyplace, but my point is you feel a lot more secure parking on the grounds of the stadium, rather than someplace else and having to walk to get to the game. I think at this point the Marlins need to look at every proposal put before them. That is unless their intention is to move the team. I hope it is not the case but looks that way if they are just outright refusing to look into the Palm Beach County proposal. Has anyone found any statistics of where fans come from that attend games? It would be interesting to see.

Between this BAD news and the error riddled game they are playing tonight against Philly it looks like management and the players have hung it up for the season. It is so dissappointing. :banghead

The entire pitching the past two nights has been horrible. Batting practice for the Phillies and Mets. If that is the best the Marlins minor league teams have to offer, it looks like we are in for a long year. Where Have All The Pitchers Gone? Looks like next chance for a win may be Saturday with Willis. :banghead
