The San Florida Marlins?
I still think it is crazy that the official Marlins webpage was selling "Orlando Cabrera" jerseys... Nobody else seemed too shocked by the mistake with Cab's first name. Orlando is not on this team. 868938 WTF?! Really??

Time to make a run
>>However with our big 3 going up against a San Francisco team that is more >>than beatable- I think we can make a run right now. >>Look at these matchups- >> Willis vs. Tomko I mentioned this over in the "Big O" thread, but this is the more fitting thread. Willis needs to change it around somehow. Not just his last two starts , but his history of stinking it up in the second half of the season. Also, more importantly is his last 2 starts in SBC Park have seen him get absolutely shelled there. I believe it is 10 earned runs in 6 innings over those two starts there. Seems Willis has alot to overcome. But I believe he has the will and compusure to get it back on track (hopefully).

THE BIG O
>With Willis, Beckett, and Burnett pitching next against the Giants, expect that 7 ERA to go down. 868771 As far as Willis goes, there's three questions. One, will he get back on track after back to back woeful games? Two, will he shed is penchant for being an awful second half pitcher. And three, will he break his streak of poorly pitched games at SBC Park in SF? (See scouting report - he's allowed 11 runs in 6 innings in his last three starts). Maybe the Marlins can score 10 runs early and not have to worry about Dontrelle's performance. Then again,Tomko is 5-0 against them. Nevermind - Dontrelle needs to come thru.

Just theory about the teams struggles at home
If the players want better crowds at the stadium, then they need to start hitting. If they get rolling and back into this race, people will show up down the stretch just like in 03. 853269 King Marlin, believe it or not, people didn't even show up down the stretch in 2003.I went to about 40-50 games all year and probably every one of them in the last month and I was embarrassed for the team over the sparse crowds even as they made their run for the post season. Btw, if the Marlins had a new state of the art stadium that had a capacity of 36,000-38,000 - they would draw more fans for sure.Even if they went from 21,000 average to say around 29,000 average...the stadium would look fairly packed. That Orange Bowl location. What do you think about it? And my memory fails me right now, but why is Sunrise not considered? Or was it? I think I recall something about the debacle of how the finances/profits of the Office depot center has been so disastrous for Sunrise gov't officials, that they will never ever consider any other venue in their city again.
