yep just read up on that. its going to remind me alot of the 02 marlins under jeff torborg when he let them run the bases alot and we could manfacture runs with fundamentals. to me it just makes the game more fun to watch. the key is have the leadoff hitter set the table whether its Aguila or Hanley or Reed. Then you factor in hermida and jacobs stepping it up so that we can protect cabrera and pitchers will ACTUALLY pitch to him

Reed looks promising but his OBP and not drawing alot of walks is something that we don't need. I've heard alot of good things about Reggie but unless he has a really good spring u wont see him playing CF for us

hey guys hows it going. new member to the board but ive been reading articles almost every day for about 8 months now. just want to give a little run down of myself. my name is kenny, im 18 and i live in west palm beach. i am a huge marlins fan and ive been so since 95. ive been to many ballgames throughout the years and ive been there for the post seasons games and all that good stuff. i am huge baseball card collector so if you could forward me to a thread that covers that please let me know. ive always wanted to talk marlins wit ppl which is why i am happy that i found this board. i am fortunate to meet the players every march or so because they head over to my moms job and have their eyes checked before playing in any games so i have tons of personalized baseballs and bats all the way from 2002. Reed is one heck of a player and fun to watch, but on the other hand so is Gathright. If i had to choose one though, i gotta go with reed.

those jerseys were nice, hopefully i get some pics from that. my moms friend went to the game.

Olivo is all we needed lol. along with willingham to back him up and treanor as maybe a 3rd string if giradi wants to do that.

vargas really does have some talent, hopefully we get him more run support this season and his W-L record improves. i really wanted to hear the game on the radio but i had to settle for watching the scoreboard on espn.com well pitched game from what i saw especially against a good dodger team.

i am really disappointed that pokey isnt with the team anymore. i really wanted to see him play for us knowing that he has the glove and experience to help others out on the team. but family is very important. the job is hanley's to lose, andino had the chance last year to win it all but he struggled and just hadnt taken the command that the marlins have wanted to see from him. but i wouldnt rule anything out, if hanley was to struggle u could see andino back in the mix.

well yeah that is true Sirspud but when I first heard of the WBC i thought it was going to be around January or early February right after winter ball for most the players. guess that turned out to be wrong. i am all for representing ur country cuz im rooting for puerto rico and USA along with cabrera, but having this during spring training wasnt too smart.

u pretty much have to go with the listing above, because u do want to have a veteran presence not only in the bullpen but also in the clubhouse. I personally am hoping that Matt Herges can make the team for the simple fact that he does have a good track record from the past. As for Ungs I've heard on and off about him and he seems like a good player but is he ready for opening day? My opinon : Not just yet.
