  1. Jets lose after a Cal-Stanford play with easily 8 or 9 laterals...I had a feeling that KO return TD was not such a good thing. Can't leave Manning that much time.
  2. Rachel jets just returned a kickoff for touchdown against the colts!!! Don't know if thats such a good thing for the Jets to score that way....instead of driving down and scoring and using up the rest of the time they've left Manning over 2 minutes to drive right back down and win it. Ahem

  4. Cabs is out of the game? Sanchez is 2-3 so there is no chance in Cabs winning the batting title but I dont know why he was taken out of the game. Probably because the batting title was the only reason he was playing in the first place.
  5. With Myers and Hamels thats some great young 1-2 punch the Phils will have for years to come. And they can actually afford to pay to keep that. Imagine that. myers...although a young pitcher...seems to be very inconsistent...thank god... He hasn't really been inconsistent this year. This would be his 23rd quality start in 31 games this season. Santana has 24 QS in 34 starts. Thats about as consistent as it gets. His problem has moreso been the lousy run support he received the first 3 months of the year...cost him at least 3 or 4 more wins.

  7. Cabrera whiffs again. Sanchez already with a hit....no batting crown today.
  8. Myself I'd sorta kinda rather have 2 World Championships in a 14 year existence than finish first in a division for 14 straight years and only have 1 World Championship to show for it. The standings, especially since the addition of the wild card team, take a backseat to the ultimate result. Dude, this is about THIS year I want to finish ahead of the stinkin' &^%$#%'s that's all It's not really about "THIS year" for you though because if the Braves hadn't finished first all those OTHER years you wouldn't care one way or another about them. Finishing 3rd to their 4th means less than nothing. The point is you should revel in the fact that Florida has twice as many WS titles as Atlanta despite Atlanta's finishing first all those years. Worrying about finishing 3rd instead of 4th is actually pretty lame.
  9. Why would it be nice? It would be nice for the next time I go to a road game in Philly. Why is that?
  10. In Borowski's defense, he is a free agent in the off-season and every little bit helps. Then grow a set and SAY that. But no...instead he's a weasel about it and "makes it clear that is wasn't about a contract or money" by making such ridiculous statements as "it's just a matter of pride" and "baseball is supposed to be sacred...the game is about numbers." Here's a clue, genius....the game is neither about numbers NOR pride.....it's about winning and losing. You lost....so shut up and take it like a man and quit trying to deflect attention from that fact by whining about the official scorer. You embarass yourself, your organization and your fanbase but I guess the .09 on your precious ERA is much more important to you than any of that.

  12. "Baseball America and other publications have shown that a HUGE percentage of the STAR players in baseball come from the first two rounds, and mostly the top of the first round. Yes there's always your outliers, like Piazza in the 47th or Willingham in the 25th, however it's a statistical FACT that if you want a star player, he's either an international signee, or a first round draft pick." Willingham is a "star player?" Ummmmmm.....ok. :confused
  13. "Baseball is supposed to be sacred. The game is about numbers,'' Borowski said. And here all this time I thought it was about your team winning or losing. Maybe it's just me but something turns my stomach about a pitcher who has just given up runs and lost the game being more concerned about their own stats and how a scoring decision affects them than the fact that they just blew the game. It wasn't like the McCann play ended the game by allowing the winning run to score. Borowski had how many more chances to get outs after that play? And didn't. But lets worry about our ERA....after all, THATS what is REALLY important here.
