  1. So Olsen will be a washed up below average by the time he is in his early 30s? I personally think he is the most talented and has the most potential of any pitcher in your organization.
  2. I've watched Sergio and I like his stuff, call it blindly supporting him or whatever but I am in his camp. You are one of the few. Dont get me wrong, every Cubs fan is happy he is gone, we watched him first hand at several levels and saw just how bad he was. We laughed at your GM for being swindled into taking him away. While we didnt get much in return, and we gave up two excellent young pitchers in Nolasco and Pinto, getting rid of Mitre was worth it. I wouldnt be suprised if you guys cut him in spring training truth be told. And it would be a very good move for your organization. I would be beyond shocked if they cut him in spring training and that isn't me being a fan of Mitre. It just won't happen. And Cubs fans laughing because they gave up Pinto and Nolasco, along with Mitre just for Juan Pierre is comical. I agree we didnt get much back in Pierre. And we hated losing Nolasco and Pinto. But getting rid of Mitre made it all worth it. We were all bummed about it until it was announced that Mitre was part of the deal, and upon realizing he would no longer be in our organization putting our teams, at any level, at a constant position to lose...we were overjoyed to be rid of him. I just wouldnt be suprised if he doesnt make the team because you guys have pitchers at every level that are much better than he is. And I dont really understand why you have been stocking up on pitching if your front office insisnts on using talentless retreads from other teams, Mitre being the prime example. He couldnt make it with my Cubs, he was forced on you, and we are pitching starved. That is the ultimate testiment right there.

  4. mitre is awful...can we just release him? :lol I agree with Jimmy here. I followed Nolasco and Pinto over here to you guys(I am an Iowan). My Cubbies couldnt get Mitre out of the organization fast enough. And with our recent history as far as pitching goes, that should tell you something. We were all overjoyed that we would no longer have to watch Mitre go out there and destroy any chance we had of winning. Your front office should cut bait with Mitre as quick as they can. As long as he doesnt come back to Chicago, well unless the south side. Let him destroy their hopes and dreams for a while. I see you defend him on here quite often, and honestly Mr. Ramp, I never understand why people defend players that have never done anything at this level but be awful. He was even awful for your Fish last year. Here we go. Sergio Mitre Overall record: 1-5 | 5.71era | 1.56whip Let's take a step INSIDE the numbers (insert dramatic music here) He appeared in 15 games in 2006, 7 starts, 8 in relief In one of the starts, he left after 3 pitches, so it's really 6 starts for all intensive purposes. In those 6 starts, he went 1-4 with a 4.89era. With such few starts though, one terrible start could skew all the numbers and that is the case here. On May 5th vs STL, he went 4.1ip giving up 11 hits and surrendering 6 earned runs. Take out just the 1 start and he is 1-3 with a 3.82era. Time to look at his bullpen appearances. He threw 6 innings in the bullpens in his 8 outings. If you recall, his first outing against the Nationals was disastrous, but also he was rushed back from the DL and didnt even have a stint in the minors. In that appearance he gave up 3 runs while recording 0 outs on 0 hits. He was all over the place. He would then go on to throw 6 straight scoreless innings before blowing up vs STL(not to Fredi, do not pitch him vs the Cardinals) and ending his season. Take out his 1 terrible start vs the Cards, his rushed back performance vs the Nats and in last outing vs the Cards(I have a slight feeling he may have been pitching injured in this one) and his numbers arent too shabby 36.2 innings pitched | 3.19era | 1.16whip just sayin, his 3 terrible outings clearly overshadowed his entire (injury-plagued)season. Ok, if you are going to take out that 1 start against St. Louis, that in your opinion skews the #s out of Mitre's favor, you have to take out the game that skews the #s IN Mitre's favor. The start against Houston. Taking out those two games, against St. Louis and Houston to get a fair analysis, in his other 4 starts, he is 0-3 with a 4.83 ERA and a 1.45 WHIP. That is horrible my friend. When you figure that 3 out of those 4 games are in pitcher-friendly Dolphin Stadium, it is an even more horrible collective performence. I think you are blindly supporting him, because the facts dont support your support of someone who is very bad pitcher. Your team would be much better off without him.

  6. are you saying every Marlin's pitcher should take a mission trip to Holland then? Everyone should take a trip to Holland. Thats my philosophy.

The fact remains real men dont drink vodka under any circumstances. Why do you think that the USSR, my kin, lost the cold war? It wasnt infastructure or political dissidence, or any of that crap. They were a bunch of vodka drinking pussies is why they lost. Why dont you go over to moscow and start saying this. We'll see how long you last I am Russian by heritage. The Soviet empire didnt fall because of self implosion, it fell because a bunch of pansy asses were prancing around all feminie-like drinking Vodka.

Well, a friend was over, and I was just enjoying some Strawberry-Watermelon Juice with Vodka. And then I kept enjoying it. Over and over again. Real men dont drink vodka. Ever. For any reason. Only gay men and chicks drink vodka. And Russians, which I am. But I am an American bred of Americans who were bred of Russian immigrents. Even if your friend was a female, you should of been ingesting beer, whiskey, tequila, rum, or jager. Even margaritas are acceptable, as long as its not pink and there is no umbrella within 5 feet of the glass. Sex on the Beach, outside of the literal sense, is also off limits.
  11. Be awesome if it was The Rock. I miss The Rock.
  12. And Khali/Umaga might be the worst match ever.
  13. I hope eventually Cabrera can be showed in the same light, defensively, as Lowell. He is very underrated defensively. I know that is big shoes to fill. Lowell got robbed by Rolen on name reckognition on more than one occasion for the gold glove. But as of right now, I would say Cabrera is the best defensive 3B in the NL East. SS- Edgar Renteria Renteria, by some defensive metrics(Baseball Prospects), is horrible defensively.
  14. Pinto is not out of options. As a team, to succeed, I would hope that bums like Mitre arent "expected" to make the team. That says alot about how far we still have to go. Kind of an unrealistic #. Not saying this team cant succeed, but I would say that matching last seasons win total would be an accomplishment, with sophomore slumps and no improvement at any of the problem areas. In other words, I doubt the starters will average 16 wins apiece.
