  7. really? didn't know. but as we all know, football, basketball and baseball are US-national-sport. I think soccer still needs some time there. but it needs also people who give it a chance. maybe, as said somewhere before, the next generation gives soccer a better chance. btw: hockey and basketball are of canadian history. football comes from the english rugby and baseball has an old-culture history. :mischief2
  8. oops, i forgot latin-america. yeah, of course it's also part of their/your culture. and in asia i's coming, too. the same with africa.
  9. soccer is a graet sport. it's really cool and here we have many good teams and can see good games. as someone said before, soccer is a culture here. but who cares about injuries? I think it's important to have fun while playing. soccer is an "import-sport" for the us. that's because it is not that popular. it's the same with basketball, football and especially baseball here. basketball and football are coming. there are some really good teams here and there is one special player who is very successful in Dallas and comes from Germany: Dirk Nowitzki. So why insult soccer as "european trash"? we accept basketball and football, too. US-sport is growing here for 10 or 20 years now. the generation before doesn't know and doesen't care about it. I think the reason why soccer is unpopular in the US is, because of the problems with the MLS and so on. did you see the soccer-worl-cup in south corea and japan? did you see the emotions in the stadiums and in the streets of seoul? in my opinion, they were compareable with the emotions around the superbowl. and the US-national-team wasn't that bad as many people expected. they were pretty good, as far as I remember. soccer is not some kind of "european trash". it is a very cool sport. it developed here in Europe and it's part of the european culture. In the US football, baseball and so on developed, so they are part of the american culture, but hopefully, soccer will have a chance one day in North America. :thumbup
  10. he's an avid marlins fan that lives in Hawaii Hawaii..... wow. according to my atlas, the distance between Hawaii and Miami and the distance between my home town in Germany and Miami is nearly the same: about 4750 miles. so do "Juanky" and I have to shere the title or is here anyone who lives further from South Florida? :unsure : Edit: But there is someone who comes to the board every once in a while from Italy, so I guess he has me beaten... damn.... this guy could win, too.
  11. I think, I could win this competition. I live in Germany. but I'm only a fan since last summer. (holydays in fl)
