Posted July 25, 200321 yr The Manchester United Versus Celtic just broke The New Seahawks stadium record. Yeah, Soccer is hopeless in America
July 25, 200321 yr The Seahwaks suck that bad? Darn, I am indifferent about soccer since the MLS took away our two teams in Florida.
July 25, 200321 yr too bad Beckham was signed by Real Madrid or whoever.... it would have been cool to have him in the states
July 25, 200321 yr too bad Beckham was signed by Real Madrid or whoever.... it would have been cool to have him in the states Would have drawn alot of people out, too... I hate soccer...
July 25, 200321 yr Author What do you mean. It's a sellout without Beckham. Their was no returns after he announced that he was going to Real Madrid. Face it Soccer is becoming popular in the states. It just blew Football out of the water in Seattle.
July 25, 200321 yr Rune, please post an article you saw this in. It may be possible that Seahawk Stadium has more seats for soccer than football and therefore this game set a new record because of that.
July 25, 200321 yr Seating Capacity for 72,000 67,000 fixed seats including 7,000 club seats additional 5,000 seats for special events Roof protection for 70 percent of seats From the Seattle Seahawks Website Seahawks Stadium scores international soccer match First & Goal Inc., the Paul Allen company that operates Seahawks Stadium in Seattle, said it has scheduled an exhibition soccer match between England's Manchester United and Celtic FC, the Scottish League champion, for July 22, 2003. The taxpayer-funded stadium was built to accommodate soccer matches, with separate locker rooms for soccer and camera-well locations designed for optimal television coverage of the sport. First & Goal said it has agreed to temporarily install grass over the FieldTurf playing surface, a necessary move to secure international matches. First & Goal committed to the temporary installation when the agreement to build the stadium was reached. Manchester, a perennial powerhouse in the English Premier League, will use a four-stop tour in the United States to tune up for the beginning of next year's season in August. The team also will play exhibitions in Los Angeles, Philadelphia and New York/New Jersey. The Seattle Sounders soccer team will play at Seahawks Stadium in the upcoming 2003 season From the Seattle Business Journal They use FieldTurf for football (same as Tropicana Field/Devil Rays) and natural grass for Soccer. Looks like they fit more people in with the extra seats for soccer than football, therefore setting an attendance record since they have more seats to sell.
July 25, 200321 yr Author I don't have an article I was watching The Game on Fox Sports Net. It came up New Stadium Record. Not a single empty seat for The Manchester United's win.

July 25, 200321 yr Soccer is the best sport in the world.....and its a shame that the MLS cant get its act together and start producing good soccer, thank god our national is great.
July 25, 200321 yr I find soccer to be rather boring sometimes, like hockey can because it can have ties.
July 25, 200321 yr Soccer is the best sport in the world.....and its a shame that the MLS cant get its act together and start producing good soccer, thank god our national is great. Soccer is the best sport and nothing compares to world cup.The only things that captures more of my attention than Football season is the World Cup. I'll still rank Football ahead of soccer but I love both sports. 1a Football 1b Soccer
July 25, 200321 yr there is a reason why futbol is the most popular sport in the world. Its only a matter of time before you Americans discover the true greatness of futbol. Along with being a great sport, futbol can also be something of great national pride come World Cup season. If you have ever been to a futbol stadium on a warm afternoon, you know what I am talking about. You have never experienced a true rabid crowd of fans, unless you have seen a futbol game live.
July 25, 200321 yr well, not to be too offensive, but americans have a lot to be proud of, we dont NEED futbol, at all, some countries, that is there only sense of pride, which is why its so big, ontop of that, we have a lot of other popular sports, personally i like soccer, but i only follow the national team, not MLS, i def think it can get boring, but i love watching the US international game.... but i like watching baseball first, the football (american), then baseketball, hockey soccer are all the same to me, although i love watching the heat, especially when they play well, but i never get to see them....
