  1. Are you sure it won't be on ESPN? It says the ESPN game is Red Sox - White Sox but usually here in Maine the Red Sox games ESPN shows are usually replaced by another game since the Sox are on NESN.
  2. No. Josh Beckett Will be the Best SP in MLB History for the rest of his carear. (I am a Beckett Fan) Ain't no bigger Beckett fan in the history of the world than myself. Prior>Beckett. But Beckett will finish as the second best SP in history after his career is done, don't worry.
  3. Hey people, as of right now there is no current pitcher who is hotter, and I guarantee he'll be seen as the best in the game in 2 more seasons when he wins his 3rd straight Cy Young.
  4. april. Maybe in my 15 posts as "FORMERSeaDogsFan61" last year I said it.
  5. yea, i had some pesos on tonight's game.... meh I'm talking more about pride than money. Cabs does yardwork Why would he be doing yardwork? He's a freakin major league baseball player. I'll say 4-1 Pirates. Beckett goes 7, gives up 1 run, strikes out 6. He'll walk 2 and give up 4 hits. However, the Pirates will explode on Ugueth Urbina in the 8th and break the 1-1 tie, putting it out of reach for Florida's struggling bats. Josh Fogg gives us a surprise going the distance.

  7. Beckett will own. I am going to be so angry if he doesn't. I have a lot riding on this game.
  8. you may have said it in august... but i was the first on this board to say it. whether he is the best in the history of this game...i dont know. right now though....you can make a very strong case for him being the best in baseball TODAY. When did you say it on this board?
  9. Hooper and Erickson should stay down there for now. We dont need them right now. Our team has been playing good the way it is so lets leave it like this. We are brining up our minors way too early. Cabs, willis and Beckett came up at 21 years old! Beckett was ready, although I don't think bringing up Willis and Miggy were best for them overall in their developing as players. And isn't Miggy 20?
  10. LET'S SEE YA GOT ERICKSON AND HOOPER JUST WAITING FOR THE CALL... No brainer. They can't possibly be worse than 1 for 30 and 1 for 26. It wouldnt be wise because WHEN we make the playoffs they wouldnt be on the roster. As much as you'd like to think you WILL make the playoffs, nothing is a given, and it'd be better to let Hooper and Erickson help you MAKE the players than Gonzo and Miggy Cab lead you AWAY from the playoffs. Your being a little ridiculous here taxi. Youd actually give two guys with no ML Ab's the job? hmm. Why not? It couldn't hurt? I'm not saying give them the job forever if they struggle, but it really isn't possible to do worse than Miggy Cab and A-Gone right now.

  12. Prior has better command of his pitches than any other 22 year old in the history of baseball.

  14. Boy, people really go all out on birthdays, here.
  15. Umm, I declared Prior the best pitcher in the history of major league baseball last August.
  16. Yeah now you have fun boostin that post count of yours.
  17. Androscoggin County, I'm positive we could support the Marlins, what with our 150,000 person population
  18. you mean the braves didnt always play in atlanta? wow. next thing you will tell me is that the yankees havent always played in new york. OMG Baltemoor
  19. The way I see it, if you're a real fan, there's no such thing as a 2nd favorite team, especially one that's in the same division as your favorite. I love the Marlins. I hate everyone else (unless they're playing the Phils). The way I see it, if you grew up having one favorite team, but there happens to be minor league team that you love near you of another team, you are allowed to have a 2nd favorite team. And to avoid the questions "why are you are a Braves fan if you live in Maine?" let's not forget the Braves were in Boston and I'm a 3rd generation Braves fan, the first coming from when they were in Boston.
  20. Kip is one of the most underrated pitchers in the game.
  21. Haha, I'm not one to knock the Marlins, they are my 2nd favorite team and there is a reason I am at this message board.
  22. Braves suck Ooh that means a lot coming from someone who likes a team 13 games behind.
  23. Cuz he chills with us :shifty Nah, it's 'cos he's really a Braves fan.
  24. Hey, for all of you who are disappointed with the outcome of Marlins pitching "prospects." You need to take things in context. Everyone knows that high school pitchers do not make good prospects, and usually flop. I agree with that philosophy, even though I became obsessed with Beckett before I had soccumbed. But anyway, look at the Marlins and my favorite team, the Braves. THe prospects that they get out of high school really turn out to be mediocre, even though we (the Braves) have a good amount of pitching prospects that came out of high school, and hopefully the Adam Wainwrights of the world will defy the philosophy. But look at college pitching prospects: they usually do pretty well. Then look at the high schoolers, many of the best pitchers in the majors right now that came out of high school weren't brilliant "prospects" like the Becketts of the world were, they just emerged later in their minor league careers.
  25. wut radio station? MLB.com Radio And I asked him what he thought the playoff rotation was going to be. He didn't respond much, let me see if I can say what they said... Host- Shane from Lewiston, Maine writes us, and says: 'Hey Josh, I'd just like to compliment you for your success since the break. Since then you've been the most consistent pitcher on the team (which has given you the lowest ERA in the rotation). Do you know what's up with Dontrelle? I mean, he's a great pitcher, but he has really been struggling.. hopefully he picks it up today. One more thing, I was just wondering what the Marlins' rotation is. I mean, I know it goes Redman-Penny-Willis-You-Pavano, but where does it start and end? Who would be in the playoff rotation.. all 5 of you or would you have a 3 or 4 man rotation like most teams? If the playoffs were to start right now, I would make the rotation Redman-You-Penny-Pavano, since Willis has been struggling so much. I'd also make it so Penny doesn't have to pitch in the day *Beckett laughs* (7.55 ERA despite yesterday's effort.) Anyway, good luck tomorrow against the Pirates." Josh Beckett- Haha, yeah. Host- That guy does his homework. Josh Beckett- Yeah, that guy had a lot of stuff. Like I said I think the bar has just been set so high with Dontrelle. He could have very easily, I know, have won his last three starts. And I think people are just expecting 8 innings shut out every time just because he's set the bar so high and I think that's a tough thing and I think he'll be fine and he'll definitely be in our playoff rotation. Then they started talking more about Dontrelle when I really wanted them to talk about the playoff rotation.
