  1. Not upset, just didnt appreciate it
  2. I think Gaby or whoever plays first will hit at or near Jacobs BA this year but will NOT produce as much HRs RBIs or HITs (But strikeouts too) Um, don't hits determine BA? If he hits at Jacobs BA, then how can he NOT produce as much.....HITs? [unless he walks more and has less PA, which makes him superior anyway (other things being equal); or, if he gets less PA, which isn't his fault.] Oh, and Gaby won't hit as many HR as Jacobs? Thanks a lot, captain ob[li]vious. Just stating my opinion and trying to back it up but i guess Im failing, but theres no reason for that dude. :thumbdown
  3. Ryan Howard had 19 errors Prince Fielder had 17 Jake had 11 Not the WORST :glare
  4. Berkman 108 Youkilis 108 M Bradley 112 Ma Holiday 104 Jacobs 119.................these "league leaders" had just around the same amount of SO as Jake
  5. 8 GS=Rotation Starter? GS SP *Scott Olsen 33 SP Ricky Nolasco 32 SP *Andrew Miller 20 SP *Mark Hendrickson 19 SP Chris Volstad 14 ^^^^These werent them? Miller - 20 Hendrickson - 19 Volstad - 14 there's what we're talking about. Miller started only 20, Volstad only 14. Whoever started in place of them generally wasn't very good. Hendrickson in general wasn't very good either. That's quite a few games. Part of the point is that if our top 5 are healthy (which is always a big "if"), the pitching will be better. Jacobs, Olsen, and Gregg are fine but it's not like they're leaving holes. I think Gaby or whoever plays first will hit at or near Jacobs BA this year but will NOT produce as much HRs RBIs or HITs (But strikeouts too)
  6. Jacobs may be facing tryouters and rockin off them but so is Sanchez and hes not delivering.
  7. Sanchez is batting .200 in his Spring Training tryout. He is trying his hardest to make the team right now and this is what he delivers. Jacobs is batting .317 when hes already guarenteed a spot.
  8. Even if we did get nothing in return, which we did of course, what did we lose? Willingham and his bad back and lackluster offense? Olsen and his inconsistency? Jacobs and his lack of contact and horrible defense? and Gregg, well he's Gregg. Honestly the only player out of those that I will consider a loss might be Olsen because he did have bright spots, but is still wildly inconsistent, everyone else consitutes to addition by substraction. But thats not reality. Thats blocking out what really happened by subsituting it for what they WANT it to be.
  9. So your telling me Badenhop was one of the starters last year? http://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/FLA/2008.shtml 8 GS, yes... 8 GS=Rotation Starter? GS SP *Scott Olsen 33 SP Ricky Nolasco 32 SP *Andrew Miller 20 SP *Mark Hendrickson 19 SP Chris Volstad 14 ^^^^These werent them?
  10. So your telling me Badenhop was one of the starters last year?
  11. Can someone please tell me why many(not all) fans scorn the reports on the East when the Marlins are in second to last or last? Let me get this straight, those fans think that after trading Jacobs, Olsen, Willingham, Gregg(Ok I'll give you that one), and getting back unproven "talent"(Only one fielder in Bonaficio) then signing a washed-up reliever that is now hurt, that the Marlins will do BETTER than last year? But from what I hear, the main "addition" is healthy Johnson and Sanchez, which havent pitched regularly as a starter in a Major League game in 2 years. The Marlins minor leaguers Stanton, West, Skipworth, and a couple others still, according to some other fans, need "seasoning" down in the minors. But please, enlighten me on how the Marlins are going to do better.
  12. Fck all of those who voted against it with that old pr!ck
  13. I am already hearing about how the Marlins are going to have "another firesale". How the cheap owner is going to break up the team. How the fans are disgusted and will never trust ownership. When will people realize that there is more than one way to build a franchise? These should be in the same sentence. In Lorias eyes, there is only one way, trade&build and repeat it.
  14. then why didnt you type him? Because he doesn't meet the criteria you specified. According to whos standards? Yours? No, the stats. thot u'ed say that
  15. wow, i just watched the Kimbo Slice fight, how pathetic was that? BTW to all that didn't see, Kimbo lossed 14 seconds into the fight, literally I KNOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW, I wish he could have recovered and gave 1 good upper cut, I think I'm done for 2nite. Im pissed!
  16. Come on dude, I bet if Uggla did in the 2nd half what he did in the first half we wouldn't have this debate. But we he didn't, and we are.

  18. U cannot compare the #'s of Castillo and Uggla. I will repeat what i asked earlier in this thread, this debate comes down to the simple question what are the marlins more in need of currently, A fast, rookie #2 hitter, or a powerful, 2 time all star #6 hitter An inconsistent, unpredictable, 2 time accidental all star should be #8 hitter Well, good thing we don't have any of those on the team! forgot Uggla Nope, I definitely took him into account. then why didnt you type him?

  21. The comments on this thread are ridiculous. Comparing Uggla and Luis Castillo, as hitters, is laughable. I said they are two differnt types of hitters Yes...and Dan Uggla is the better hitter. Better hitter how? Homers, yes RBIs, yes. Clutch, no # of hits, no
  22. OHHHHHHHH, as long as he wanted to get back and play! Sure, lets give him a pat on the back as he hobbles on out there to 2nd base Like I said, I'm not a fan of it. But if it was Louie out there you would be praising him on putting the team first and being there when his team needs him. When Hanley said "I don't care if it's broke", did you say "No Hanley, you selfish idiot who doesn't know the game, you better not be there for the most important game of the season"? I highly doubt it. HUH? The last game against the Mets last year? Hanley played hurt. That game had no importance to the Marlins themselves whatsoever, just their ego(Kicking Mutts out for 2nd year in a row.) There cant be a most important game unless its playoff related and benefits the Marlins playoff chances, the most important thing was the 2nd half of the season.
