Alright watching Marlins Live! i can feel it!!!!

So harang had 114 pitch count today...is dusty baker the biggest pitcher killer in the world or no? every team he seems to manage has great pitching but he always seem to keep them in there and they get high counts...i think he killed Mark Prior career...well him and the Fish ha ha Baker never has been a guy who can handle a rotation or a bullpen. His biggest plus is that he works very well with the players. Everywhere he goes the players seem to love him and he builds great team comraderie that's true the players do love playing for him it just frustrates me to no end

Harang's up to 110 pitches. If he doesn't get Church out, this may be it. If he does get Church out, this will be it. yup he got out of it, lets hope they get to santana

As much as I love Baker hitting second for his ability to get on...I would like to see him hitting 8th it would give Bonifacio better pitches hitting in front of Hanley and it would definitely make the pitcher work harder to get through the bottom of the order with Baker's ability to take pitches and his aforementioned ability to get on But you want Baker to be on base so that he can be driven in. In the 8 hole, if there's two outs it doesn't matter that he gets on. I prefer an aggressive hitter in the 8th hole, that can try to get hits and drive in runs as opposed to someone who's specialty is just getting on base. right but if there people on base i rather have someone who is going to put it in play and at least give us a chance instead of just swinging aggressively...like i said i love bake 2nd it would prob be better that way all things told but I'm just saying why they possibly would think about it

I believe his belief is that if he bats bonifacio 2nd, he will get better pitches to hit because pitchers don't want him on base for the 3 and 4 hitters. In the 8th hole, with the pitcher behind him, he won't see as many good pitches to hit. Of course, the truth is also that in the 8th hole if he can take some walks he can get in scoring position when the line up turns over. Sure, no problems with this. However, My question is, what is he going to do with those better pitches? THAT'S the problem. Bunt? Smack grounders? Hit an occasional double Pressure the defense into an error every other week? He doesn't have the plate discipline to walk, and he whiffs at probably higher rates than Baker or Hermida. He just doesn't have the hitting potential to punish someone for those better pitches. Baker will take a billion pitches, Hermida will punish. Bonifacio does not do these things. Right, but putting him 8th, in Fredi's mind (not that I can read it, but IMO), is basically guaranteeing two automatic outs at the bottom of the order, where 2nd maybe he will be able to get some hits. I like Baker second very much because of his ability to get on.
