In my opinion, the Marlins should consider grabbing this guy... Sure he has been through tons and tons of injuries. However, think about... Low risk, High Reward. With an invite to spring training you have many different positives. You have him trying to show a club that he can still play major league ball and you also have him showing Dominguez the ropes. Even if Dominguez where to "win" the job and Chavez performed decent with the bat in the spring he could be a cheap surprise option on the bench (Lefty Bat) and provide depth if Dominguez struggles early at the MLB level.
