I didnt even hear it.... my mom called at noon... i was just getting up... had no clue until i turned on the news.... it seems that the news station i watch, the abc affiliate, wfaa in dfw....showed the breakup live...... they were showing it on their morning news program as it streaked across the sky headed to florida, as generally happens.....but instead the destruction of the shuttle occured instead....its eerie... but the debris field really begins about 50 miles east of me... epicenter they say near Nacodoghes (sp?), Texas. Definitely a tragedy and this has been on the dallas news station all day....

truly a tragedy.... i dont know what can be said other than my thoughts and prayers are with those affected from this.... and i am not even going to speculate what occured....

It was bound to happen. First there is that 'questionable' auto loan. Then there is the fact that he is an idiot and needs to learn how to drive. Now this. I am not surprised and it should be interesting to see what happens to him next year in the Association.

If you dont feel comfortable discussing something with me and would rather take it to the Big Dog around here, go for it. Everyone should feel welcomed here at all times. There are rules and we MUST abide by them, but still we want to maintain that 'family' atmosphere that has existed on these boards since the time when I first arrived. If you have a problem with someone (other than their opinions), please let it be known and WE being Admin and/or myself will address it ASAP.

the fun is that you are watching baseball..... i do not just watch my team and root for them. I watch baseball for strategic purposes and work to get a better understanding of all teams and players. You see things from a much different perspective if you are not emotionally attached to the team(s) you are watching.

if you are simply interested in watching the marlins and live in south florida then it would be idiotic to get extra innings.... however if you live away from south florida or are a baseball fan in general, then it is a very good deal. it also is very bad in that you will watch baseball every night seemingly and get nothing else done...but that is another story. i can remember watching an early game and then a late game on very many nights.....

and hollandsworth has proven to be a contact hitter in teh majors? unless contact is simply putting the ball in play, their averages I am willing to bet are fairly similar.

The timing might be a little strange, considering the Bucs shut down Oakland's high-powered offense in an impressive 48-21 rout. Oakland scored most of its points after Tampa built a 31-point lead. Porter had four receptions for 62 yards and a touchdown in the loss. Porter also injured his left knee during the game, and will have an MRI later this week. Despite the Bucs' impressive play in the secondary -- safety Dexter Jackson was named MVP of the game -- Porter had some choice words for the Bucs' defensive backfield. "I'm not going to sit here and say they're great. I'm not impressed. Their DBs ----," Porter told reporters on Monday. "Across the board, they're awful, but they apply enough pressure up front to where you can't expose them. "Let me tell you, if Ronde Barber had to cover all day, he'd be living with his brother (Tiki)," Porter added. Ronde Barber did have a strong postseason for the Bucs, including a game-sealing interception return for a touchdown in the NFC title game against the Eagles. Porter said the Bucs' cornerbacks are ideal for their cover-2 system, where they aren't required to play much man-to-man. "Man-to-man, they're not (great)," said Porter.
