hey, my only point is that we won the game regardless. we are 2-2 DESPITE sea bass. i've been hating the little puketard for quite some time now, but regardless of how much he sucks, he hasn't cost us a game yet in the WS. I'm with ya now!

Interestingly, nobody questions Looper coming in for Fox either, but what happens if Looper gives up anything? You all would all over McKeon for that, too! lol, you must not have read the game thread. True! Will go check it out now. Thanks for the hint! :thumbup

sea bass's poor hitting hasn't cost us in the WS so far Sigh... :banghead Next example: Bottom 2 - runners on 1st and 2nd. Clemens on the ropes, down 3-0. Sea Bass ends the inning. Next example: Lee on 1st, no outs. Sea Bass sickly strikes out. Next example: Bottom 9 - no PH for Sea Bass. Out #2 recorded easily, THEN Hollandsworth brought to the plate. Better hitter for Sea Bass and we might get a runner on with one out. ETC, ETC, ETC. And that's only TONIGHT... I hate debating this topic to death...

Another reason to play Enc: Did anyone notice that Cabrera's bobbling of Sierra's triple is what caused the tieing run to score? An identical hit down in the corner later that was cleanly fielded ended up a double. As I think about it more, it was also Ugy getting the count to 3-2 that allowed Dellucci to start from first earlier that helped, too... Still with Enc in RF, that 3rd Yankee run might not score.

If Pavano gives up a leadoff line drive hit to lead off the 9th, you all would be on McKeon's back for not bringing in Ugy. C'mon. Why is it OK for the Yanks to bring in Rivera any time in the 8th or 9th, but not OK for us to bring our designated closer in to start the 9th? I would think that is the classic closer situation... I'm now wondering whether another SS might've reached Clemens' weak blooper that dropped behind Sea Bass when he started back the wrong way and got all twisted up. Uh the answer is no. No other votes on this? I think a SS who breaks back correctly catches that ball. As it turns out, it wasn't crucial scoring-wise, but I'm still unconvinced at how dazzling Sea Bass's defense is.

Jeff Weaver is a human batting practice machine. If Sea Bass doesn't get to him, then Enc does. I'm shocked it took a 2nd inning of batting to get to him. In fact, I was pis*ed that Sea Bass didn't let that close inside 2-2 pitch graze him to at least get on base for Enc! And this game should've been over after the top of the 9th at 3-2. The Yankees' first run was unearned. If the ump correctly calls out Matsui on the play at first, then the Sac Fly is out #3 and it stays 3-0 until top 9. I hope that Sea Bass gets his Sea Legs by hitting that HR. I s'pose the crowd will just amplify the boos of Lee now and let Sea Bass live another few days. But there are a bunch of guys not pulling their weight at the moment. Given that, I am psyched that this thing is 2-2. Funny thing - haven't seen quite as many posts about the Series being over now.

I'm totally embarrassed for us. On a slightly up note, Sea Bass is 4 for 10 lifetime against Clemens, so when he starts YET AGAIN tomorrow, there is at least a little ray of hope shining through... I'm still embarrassed for us. Clearly, Sea Bass's past performance was no indication of future performance. Just look at what Juan did today. Leads off with a double, then in a situation the 2nd baseman would normally not be so close to second except to keep Pierre's speed in check, Cabs hits one through the hole for an RBI. If they weren't worried about him, that's the third out. I was shocked to see Bernie Williams shaded so far to left-center on that "double". And we were just lucky that my least favorite MLB player Karim Garcia misplayed the ball or it would've been caught. Also, it was pathetic for Soriano to be shading 2B to keep JP on. Cabs has learned so much from Pudge about going with the pitch to RF that the Yankees could not have been surprised by that hit. And Pierre scored without a throw to the plate anyway! I thought the stat they've thrown out several times now is interesting. I think they said that Pierre has swung the bat 1115 times this year and only missed 67 times. It's like Pierre lives in a different world from the rest of the Marlins. He's the only lefty in the lineup and actually makes contact with the ball when he swings. The rest of the lineup is righties + Castillo who all swing through almost everything. I wonder who the hitting coach has more influence on. Yes, Cabrera and Pudge are the exceptions.

By the way, have any of you Florida Folk ever been to Leverock's? It's my favorite FLA restaurant. Please don't tell me it's a tourist trap. There are a whole bunch of Leverock's restaurants up and down each coast of FL. Agreed that they are good and lots of locals do frequent them, but they are located in tourist trap locations and are not up to "favorite" level by any stretch. At least they don't serve Marlin on the menu...

Jeter produces in the clutch and in the playoffs *ducks* Very reluctantly agreed. He seems to have a knack for finding the weakness and exploiting it, whether a surprise bunt, surprise steal, or a late-inning double down the RF line past the 1B who is 37 steps towards 2B for some unknown reason... He's slightly more valuable than Sea Bass, I have to admit.

Actually, we have a very solid shot at beating both Clemens and Wells. Maybe the coffin-nailers will pause a bit when it's 3-2 Marlins going back to the Big Apple.
