March 14, 200422 yr Does anyone know a lot about downloading music? 'Cause i don't? Would anyone know why you can't adjust the spaces in between tracks, in WMPlayer? The seconds between songs? Thanks
March 15, 200422 yr umm, you probably have to go to options. Anyway, I get most of my music through AOL Instant Messenger (File transfer). It's simple...if someone has you on their buddy list and has their screen name set up the right way, you just right click on their screen name, go to Get File, and voila! At furman we have different screen names that are used specifically for file transfering. Good times. Since we are all on the same network, it takes like 1 second a song.
March 25, 200422 yr Author This is such bullcrap!! can u believe this?? I purchased some songs at Wal-Mart.com for 88 cents. You're allowed to make 10 copies to a cd... But you have to acquire a license for the song by playing it once through WMP. But this must be a scam, because some of my licenses have been lost, and some songs say "you have 2 copies remaining" when I haven't even burned it to a cd once yet!!! Is anyone familiar with this sort of problem?? Thanx

March 25, 200422 yr I'm just speculating since i've never used the walmart.com service before. Are you given a "code" for the music you've bought? If so, these randomly generated (or not so random if they're being ripped off) codes can be hacked by people who know what they're looking for. Thus, stealing the music you've legally paid for. I'm not saying this IS happening but it could be possible.

March 27, 200422 yr Author No, I don't think I'm given a code? but I'm not certain? It seemed to be a pretty good thing at first. 88 cents, you get the song you want, and you don't have to download it right away...it stays in your "purchased music" account. But it asks you to play the song once through Windows Media Player, and it acquires a license... So I don't know if these license are stored in some other folder, or they're attatched to the song file itself, that I put in "My Music" folder. Because you're supposed to be able to back these licenses up to a floppy disk, or restore them from the internet. Under Tools in WMP and go to "license management" But it wont let me!! And the only choice you have is WMP website Newsgroups were you can ask other people what to do, but nothing like this message board? And basically it's ONE guy that helps everyone...And all he does is tell you to contact Product support which is $35 !!!!!! for anything concerning DRM Which DRM he said stands for Digital Rights Management I think?! If anyone can else has any experience with this stuff I'd appeciate your help or comments. Thanks!
March 31, 200422 yr Author Good point, Sir! But that's it? Nobody is smart enough here to help me! I have a hard time believing that! You young folks are a extremely computer savey!!
March 31, 200422 yr Author Thank you, Sir! For your input and concern! This Wal-Mart thing is driving me crazy!! How can you back up your licenses when it won't let you!?
April 2, 200422 yr Author Well, I discovered one thing on my own, maybe it will help others from the same problem...My Windows XP professional came with Media Player 8.0 and apparently upgrading to the new WMP 9 solved some of my problems with music from Wal-Mart!!!
April 2, 200422 yr Well who would've thought using the most current format would make it work? I'm blown away for sure.
April 2, 200422 yr Author Sorry Sir...not a computer geek... I just got this danmed XP!! Was forced to upgrade from Windows '98!!! Because nothing would work anymore!!
