Open Source and Stealing Music

Featured Replies

im sure everyone has stolen sometime in their life. Downloading music is not stealing.

Yeah, everyone has stolen atleast once.

SorianoFanHFW, if you link pics from other websites. That is considered as stealing too. You're using up their bandwidth.

and the voice of reason beams forth like an angel decending from the heavens. An angel who would most likely say, "burn me that new DJ Quik joint yo"

if downloading music was REALLY that illegal, why doesnt the government do something about it (no, suing a few dozen people wont work) if they really wanted to, they would have gotten to the bottom of it when napster was sued. so until something is done effectively, THEN and only THEN would it be stealing.

iTunes is good stuff :thumbup

/end Furman.

but i dont use it because stealing music is EVIL i use iTunes because the last thing i want is a lawsuit over some dumb crap like music.

i dont mind buying songs and when im broke i listen to the damn radio.

Jesus would be so proud of me

i recenlty downloaded itunes last night and I like it. I only downloaded it because I had like 20 pepsi caps with free songs.

Heres the thing,

I got a bunch of bottles of Pepsi at my work (we have a little snack bar thingy) and roughly 1 out of 3 have a free song under the cap. Now, I just make everybody give me their caps when they have a Pepsi since they don't want to take the time to download itunes. I plan on doing this until THE MAN shuts me down. I figure I'll fill up my itunes library and STILL never pay for a song, or a Pepsi biatch. boo-ya

why that would be stealing :o

It's still stealing guys. If the government doesn;t pursue downloaders because it is too great an issue, that doesn't mean it's not stealing because the government isn't the superior moral judge. you have bands and companies TELLING you to stop taking their product. by taking it, it is stealing, the end.

By the way, if jesus and moses really are up there caring about what we do, they would remember you broke the eight commandment, because you did. I hate it when I am some how "evil" because of my lack of religion and people have faith in relatively nothing and feel like good people. It is sickening.

Key word: relatively. Remember, all of you believe in faith based religions, so don't get offended.

the marketers are also sinning because they abuse it. making more money than they really should take. therefore they are sinning just as well. they are also sinners in the hands of god

Do two wrongs make a right?

Do two wrongs make a right?

if you are questioning me, i never said that. i simply said the producers make filthy amounts and maybe its their cause that people download music in the first place

yes i have also stopped downloading music files. but as soon as all this buzz dies down everyone will probably be back at it. you can kind of compare it to illegal drugs. people will always find a way to smuggle them in.

it sucks i agree but thats the way it is.

FM radio is still free

live with it.

That really boosted the argument. Comparing song downloading to illegal drugs.
