May 19, 200323 yr Why they ever thought Gerald Williams would be of any help to this team I'll never know. Williams probably agreed to have the clause included in his contract that Al Martin wouldn't agree to. Hopefully Allen can provide a few big hits off the bench.

In fact they offered him a contract (with a standard minor league clause) and he refused to sign it. Why? Because Al "the biggest liar in baseball" Martin already had a deal (behind the Marlins back) with Tampa Bay. If anyone should be fuming its the Marlins, Tampa Bay cleared colluded with Martin to scew the Marlins. This franschise makes mistakes, can be accused of alot of things but in this case they weren't the guilty party.
