SuperAngels
Angels' Anderson agrees to $48M, four-year extension April 13, 2004 SportsLine.com wire reports ANAHEIM, Calif. -- Anaheim Angels slugger Garret Anderson agreed Tuesday to a $48 million, four-year contract extension through 2008. The deal includes a team option for 2009 with a $3 million buyout. Anderson is a two-time All-Star and was the game's MVP last year. In 2003, he hit .315 with 29 home runs and 116 RBI. The 31-year-old center outfielder is in his 10th full season and is the Angels' career hits leader. "We stated before that signing Garret to a contract extension was a priority," general manager Bill Stoneman said. Anderson was the Angels' fourth-round draft pick in 1990. MVPosey
he's highly overrated, and not worth 12 million a year. THere are at least ten free agents this upcoming offseason that are better. He's worth more around 7-8 million

SuperAngels
if anderson is worth 12, bonds is worth about 40 Bonds had only 90 RBIs in 2003, GA got Bonds beat in RBIs! BTW GA only makes $ 6.2 million in 2004 while Magglio Ordonez is making $ 14 million.

SuperAngels
You're way off base clown, actually I'm a Bonds fan. But I would rather have Vlad, GA & Glaus over Bonds alone.

It's team dependent and dependent on where you hit in the order, and it fluctuates from year to year. Bonds blows Anderson out of the water in every stat that is relevent to individual offensive production (OPS etc.). Plus, as people have said, pitchers intentionally walk Bonds with runners in scoring position. Still, a good move for the Angels. Anderson is a very good player. The Angels look to have a good offense for a while.
Craig
Good move by Anaheim. Garrett Anderson and Magglio Ordonez are THE 2 most underrated players in the game. I'm also hearing the White Sox are very close on a 4 or 5 year extension with Magglio...that would be great and surprising if it happens :thumbup .
