April 27, 200422 yr Big Fan ........ I'm just trying to get by, being quiet and shy in a world full of pushin' and shove ........
April 27, 200422 yr annoying as s***...used to love it, but now hate it with a passion. Marley > Buffet
April 27, 200422 yr He shouldn't be compared to anyone really ...... a fairly unique style if you like buffett you should give jim morris a look ... good stuff as well .. great lyrics I prefer buffett to marley, although I really like marley beside the style differences there is also a big difference in message either way, you don't have to like jimmy, but you do need to respect what he's done He has one of the most loyal fan bases, a career that has lasted for around 40 releases (including compilations & live shows) and 3 decades of work 5 have gone gold, 6 platinum and 2 multiplatinum (including his box set which has sold over 4 million) His tours are one of the top grossing every year .. he owns his own label, does whatever project he feels and has complete freedom in his career Most musicians would kill for this He isn't the most talented, but he'll put himself on the line, write his own stuff and simply be himself dismiss it if you may ... but i'll take something like that over the mass produced pop crap out there today
April 28, 200422 yr I dont equate commercial success with being talented or enjoyable to listen to. Its just my opinion though. I can certainly see why people enjoy Buffet.
April 28, 200422 yr nor do I but you have to give it up to someone who has accomplished all that with not a single video that has been played, very limited radio airplay (like 3 songs - 1 and a half hits) and a grassroots following I'm not saying you have to like it .. but you have to respect it
April 28, 200422 yr Huge Parrot head here... ...love all of his songs, I for the most part, can't say that about other musicians I listen to because there is always a track on an album that I'm not to crazy about. But Buffett's style and songs are off the wall, I like them all. His concerts are crazy as well...

April 28, 200422 yr Author favorite songs by Buffett? I like "Pencil thin mustache", "Why Don't We Get Drunk and Screw", and "Fins"....but there are tons more
April 29, 200422 yr Favorite Buffett song..hmm theres so many that I like... He Went to Paris Margaritaville Cheeseburger In Paradise Fins Changes in Latitude, Changes in Attitude
April 29, 200422 yr It was a riot a couple years back when he got thrown out of the game ... made it into a nice skit at his shows as for favorite songs, well there are just too many to list, so here are a few migration, coast of marseille, changes, one particular harbor, southern cross (csny cover), great heart (johny clegg cover), pencil thin, stories we can tell, growing older but not up, lone palm and many, many more
April 29, 200422 yr That was crazy... I went to his first show after he got kicked out of Miami Arena It was at the TD Waterhouse Center in Orlando, He was cracking jokes left and right about not being able to swear at an NBA game... funny stuff
May 1, 200422 yr annoying as s***...used to love it, but now hate it with a passion. Marley > Buffet I'm with Shamrock on this one. I still like SOME of his songs, but I really get annoyed with it most of the time now. I will admit, I cannot equate anyone else with what he's done for longer. Pretty original.
May 1, 200422 yr Anyone heading to the concert tomorrow night? i think i might be. i still have some protesting left in me
