April 28, 200422 yr after an all around abysmal pitching performance, who do you think should be our 5th starter?
April 28, 200422 yr Phelps. He did well starting last season (way better than this anyways) and it would allow us to bring up Gracesqui who has been chewing people up in the minors.
April 28, 200422 yr Author i think we should give DO at least a few more starts to prove himself before we take him out... at that point we can figure it out, but i'd say i'm leaning towards wayne.
April 28, 200422 yr Does anyone not remember how Wayne did last year when he started? He has improved, but he has not shown me he can throw as a starting pitcher on a consistant basis.
April 28, 200422 yr I like Wayne as a reliever. He's doing well getting us out of tough situations, I think he has finally found his ideal role on the team. Leave him there.
April 28, 200422 yr Phelps is a better starter than he is a reliever based on what I've seen this year and last year. So if Oliver does pitch his way out of the 5th spot Phelps might not be a bad option.
April 28, 200422 yr Too early to tell... I mean form what i've seen of Oliver i'm a bit scared now. I know he's proabably beating himself up now though, i feel bad for him, he has the ability but he's not consistant at all.I say give him a few more starts, u know... But i voted Justin Wayne, i see a lot of potential in this guy. And he's been pitching OUTSTANDING lately, but who knows?
