May 2, 200422 yr Author blue jays did it last year. only Halliday did and they tried it with escobar, but he blew balls against the yankees and they stopped it... so they really didn't. If I were the jays, I'd do it again and just limit my starting pitchers like the rox.
May 2, 200422 yr blue jays did it last year. Yes, but they also had super stud Roy Halladay anchoring that rotation. He was damn near automatic, so they had to get him more starts. The Rockies are taking a gamble in my opinion, but i like it and i hope it pays off for em. Im impressed

May 3, 200422 yr Author The problem is that the 4 man rotation will wear on pitchers' arms. So in my honest opinion (if I were the MArlins), I would move to a 4 man rotation, make a strict 90 pitch count and no throwing sessisions in between. A throwing sessions is 30-50 pitches for no reason...so either get those guys in relief or you are wasting their arms.
May 3, 200422 yr They used a 4 man rotation for the better half of last century, it works. Esp for Rockies, it makes sense. Kudos to Denver!
May 3, 200422 yr Actually one of the good things about a 4-man rotation is that it simplifies the inbetween throwing session. There would be one day of rest before and after instead of 1 and 2 or 2 and 1.

May 4, 200422 yr Author I believe in the 4 man rotation, just get rid of the bullpen session. However, there are too many top tier starters like zito who refuse to take short rest.
