For some reason I don't think Perisho can get the job done (not that I have more trust in Bump), nothing to base on but just gut feeling.

After one month of play, I think we'd have been pleasently surprised with our pen if Fox was healthy. Benitez, Fox and Wayne would be a nice 7th-8th-9th inning trip. Perisho though horrible against righties has been unhittable vs. lefties.

 

Closer: Benitez 0.56 ERA 0.94 WHIP 10 saves

Right Handed Batters AVE against: .139 LH: .318

Thoughts: Could we ask for more? The LH AVE against is something to keep in mind.

 

Setup: Wayne 1.26 ERA 0.77 WHIP 1 blown save

Right Handed Batters AVE against: .172 LH: .133

Thoughts: So far, he looks like a decent setup man. If Fox can return the duo gives us a very nice 7-8-9 inning.

 

LH Specialist: Perisho 2.35 ERA 1.83 WHIP

Right Handed Hitters AVE against: .368 LH: .000

Thoughts : He is a LH specialist at best that needs better control.

 

Of these three guys below do we have a 7th inning man? I am not confident in any of them at this point.

 

Phelps 3.86 ERA 2.14 WHIP 4 Holds

Right Handed Hitters AVE against: .500 LH: .273

Thoughts: Capable vs. lefties but nothing exciting.

 

Bump 6.14 ERA 1.57 WHIP 2 blown saves 3 holds

Right Handed Hitters AVE against: .308 LH: .250

Thoughts: None of these numbers are anything to speak of.

 

Gracesqui 6.75 2.25 WHIP ERA 1 Save

Thoughts: Too soon to tell.

I think we are better of trading Cordero rather than Nunez

I think we are better of trading Cordero rather than Nunez

We wouldn't be able to get anything for Cordero he's a 33 year old bench player.

Perisho's only given up 2 earned runs all season.

And both were walk-off game winning runs with less than 2 out. If they had happened earlier in the game he would have given up more.
