May 3, 200422 yr I HATE NATE BUMP! you can give the guy a game he blows every lead possible. oliver sucks with his crappy cutter. this bullpen needs serious help now. we have lots of trade bait for reliever. i don't care how strong our bench is. we won lots of games last year with the bench we had. Trade Easley and Nunez for relievers i'm sick and tired of Bump, Phelps, Perisho blowing 2 to 3 run leads. they have had a bad road trip and they get home we better pray the starters pitch well again even though we went a respectable 3-4 on this trip it was a nightmare for the pitching staff.
May 3, 200422 yr Who would you bring up then? I can't stand when people make comments like send this guy to the minors or trade this guy but have no plan as to who will replace them.
May 3, 200422 yr I would like to see Howard either take a spot in the Pen or Olivers 5 spot in the rotation. Maybe Borland should get a strong look as well with his solid performance so far. His current ERA for the Topes is 1.42

His current ERA for the Topes is 1.42 I'll agree with Borland, but I don't know about Howard yet... Out of curiosity, is Allan Levrault still in the organization because he was effective at times last year, and how about Neu, he should at least get a look, I mean he can't possibly be that much worse than Bump...
May 3, 200422 yr I could see Borland called up. He might be called up tomorrow or during the Dodgers series if the bullpen continues to blow. It'd actually be funny if he was called up tomorrow or during the Dodgers series because last year against the Dodgers, is when he went down.
May 3, 200422 yr I think our bullpen is just real worn out right now. A couple high-scoring games, D-Train going one inning, and today's extra inning game can really wear them out. Lucky we have a day off tomorrow.
May 3, 200422 yr Guys, would you stop. A roadtrip to Colorado and San Francisco is not pitcher friendly. We all should know that and all you should stop crying because the sky is not falling. 15-10 :crying whaaaaaaaaaaaaa it's so bad :call sell off the team :drunks all is lost :guillotine we lead the nl east life is so bad!

Wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh we have opinions.
May 3, 200422 yr ummm....when did San Francisco become a) an offensive force b) pac bell is one of the more pitcher friendly parks IIRC

May 3, 200422 yr ummm....when did San Francisco become a) an offensive force b) pac bell is one of the more pitcher friendly parks IIRC a) when you have 4 umpires with strike zones as stable as pudding. b) when you have so many Giants being walked.
May 3, 200422 yr that has nothing to do with the park though. that could happen in any ballpark in the majors. why single out san francisco. question
May 3, 200422 yr that has nothing to do with the park though. that could happen in any ballpark in the majors. why single out san francisco. question 6 Reasons Bonds Grissom Torrialba (sp) Pierzinski (sp) Alfonzo Umps who "respect" them

May 3, 200422 yr Bump is not the problem. common now, what do you expect from Bump? Our bullpen sucks, and that's the reality. Only trustable guy is Benitez and the way Jack is using him he may be heading to the DL soon. We either trade and get another decent guy, or hope to continue to be lucky.
May 3, 200422 yr Leave Bump and Bring down Perisho!! How many runs has he allowed in his last 3 games. Grr
May 3, 200422 yr Leave Bump and Bring down Perisho!! How many runs has he allowed in his last 3 games. Grr you are an idiot. and to answer your question he's given up only 2 earned runs so far this season.
May 3, 200422 yr no need for name calling. i think we should clone benitez in a lab and raise them in the farm system, in 20 years, our bullpen will be unstoppable!
May 3, 200422 yr 6 Reasons Bonds Grissom Torrialba (sp) Pierzinski (sp) Alfonzo Umps who "respect" them :lol :lol :lol Bonds, ok. Pierzynski's no better than Redmond. But the other four? Why we were pitching around them I don't know. They wouldn't have even gotten the hits they did if they weren't ahead of the count. I really don't understand the bullpen ight now. We've got three lefthanders, all three extreme lefthanders who have had a history of being shelled by righthanded bats (then again, Tejera shut down lefties one year, then was only good against righties in 2003). We've got so many lefthanders we've got to bring in Perisho, and then pitch around the only lefthanded bat he'll see. Bump's a good pitcher, but his ability to induce groundballs should be used in tough jams not starting off innings. Phelps should move into the seventh and eigth inning work with Wayne. And Perisho the LOOGY.
May 3, 200422 yr Leave Bump and Bring down Perisho!! How many runs has he allowed in his last 3 games. Grr you are an idiot. and to answer your question he's given up only 2 earned runs so far this season. Both of those were winning runs in the bottom frame of the inning with less than 2 out. If the games had not ended it's more likely he would have allowed many more to score. We have too many lefthanders in the bullpen and Perisho is the one that has the least amount of talent and will never be more than a one-out lefthanded guy. Well, we already have Gracsqui and Phelps that can do that.
May 3, 200422 yr I think we could use Oliver and Nunez as trade bait, but we really dont have to. When Fox comes back we can send down either Perisho or Bump and then Gracie will get to stay with the team.
May 3, 200422 yr I think we could use Oliver and Nunez as trade bait, but we really dont have to. When Fox comes back we can send down either Perisho or Bump and then Gracie will get to stay with the team. Oliver has zero trade value right now and an unproven rookie doesn't have much more. You're not going to get anyone of significant value to improve the team for either one. And as for Tejera, Hutchinson, etc. from the minors, there's a reason they brought up Gracesqui, and it isn't pretty. Don't you think if there was a horse down in the minors who the front office thought could contribute he'd be here already? Fox is seeing the doctor today, expect the worst.
May 3, 200422 yr Can we all remember, these relievers are either career minor leaguers or journeymen and they are that for a reason. We got greedy after they were the best in the MLB early on. I don't expect much from them. I just find it funny that Mando has been :knock on wood: the best reliever and hasnt blown one yet.
