Nader Hits A New Low

Featured Replies

I'm one of the few people out there that thinks Nader is a big phoney.

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=1795225

He is b***hing about the ads in japan during opening day on the yanks and rays uniforms. No matter this was already done the last time in Japan and that what he is saying isn't new. I have had it with this guy making himself out being the voice of the people...this is just his latest cry for attention.

Well, the fact that he's even running for president when his platform is "Get Bush out of office" is kind of ridiculous when he's just hurting the chances of the one guy who can beat Bush.

John Kerry.

Nader's a closet republican.

The whole time!!! Yeah i saw a cartoon of a guy watching TV that had VOTE NADER on the screen, then rhe voice comes on and says "Im President Bush, and I approved this ad."

Wasn't there a republicans for nader campaign?

:mischief2 probably so, i think the Republicans keep him in a cage until election years, then release him to collect meaningful votes that could have swayed the election to the democrats. :thumbup

I just heard about the bases thing, it angered me enough to write this:

Is There A Hell? Well, There Is Advertising

If we are to make an argument from analogy proving the fact that there is indeed evil forces at work, the best evidence to support such an argument is advertising. Advertising might be one of the most annoying things on Earth behind papercuts and carpet bombing from an aggressive opposing nation. Just recently, the MLB decided that between June 11 to June 13 they are going to put Spiderman II advertisements on all the bases and homeplate before games...they even wanted to replace the nets behind homeplate with Spiderman nets.

Major League Baseball is becoming Nascar before my eyes...but does this dissapoint me? I mean, can I blame smart people for taking advantage of stupid people? Let me explain...

If you have SO LITTLE sales resistance that a picture of some red guy on homeplate is going to make you shell out 10 dollars for a movie, you are just a dumb moron. Naturally, the smart should always take advantage of the stupid. That is why I am more angry at people's stupidity than the advertisments themselves. If no one was dumb enough to be swayed by stupid billboards and Zap It infomercials, the companies would stop making the advertising.

Seeing a billboard does not make me want to smoke or drink, watching a Friends commercial does not make me want to see Friends, hearing a Roadrunner Online commercial on the radio does not make me want to get Roadrunner, and hearing a network or station shamelessly advertise for itself does not make me want to watch the network I am currently watching more than before...however, there HAS to be people unlike me in these respects, because if this were not so, people wouldn't be making millions of dollars with all of these stupid things.

So let us start condemning stupid people. I mean, stupid people are the reason we have to hear stupid crap like "I watch the Super Bowl for the commercials" and why we have advertisements offending us at every corner, every possible aspect and place of our lives. It will not be long now before we start getting advertisements in our dreams like from the show Futurama.

On Windows XP computers especially, pop ups every God damn second are on the computer and couple this with natural non spyware pop ups from the websites you visit, you get a computer freezing craporama. What the hell is it with email spam and pop ups anyway. Am I going to refinance my house because of some stupid pop up? Do I really think I can get a 14 inch c**k because some random email spam tells me?

People really click on these things, they must otherwise they would not exist. I had a friend/enemy (it mattered which way the wind was blowing) named P.J. He would email spam for money and when people clicked on the links, he would make money. Let's just say he made plenty of money, enough to pay the car insurance for his Jeep Cherokee. Yes, people do click on these stupid pop ups, people do open blatantly obvious email spam, and everyone who does this is a stupid moron.

So how do we stop this annoying advertising that ruins our TV watching, radio listening, and web surfing experience? STOP BUYING THE PRODUCT! Buy just generic brands, just to spite the advertisers. Stop paying money to porn sites when you can search for whatever the hell you want on Google image search or any other search engine. Most importantly, stop clicking on any advertisement online. These are very simple things, but of course people are too dumb to ever to this.

Two last random things that piss me off: those "You Won $1,000,000" banners and the fact that every computer on television is an Apple.

1. Nothing is ever free, besides the free matzohs at A&P Supermarkets and the free baseball bobbleheads in Oreo Os. Otherwise, nothing is EVER free. There is not a way in hell that you won millions of dollars sitting on your as at your computer.

2. Ban Apple computers. I have had it with every show, magazine comic, and cartoon using Apple computers, even though Windows is by far the most common operating system. This is nothing more than Apple product placement and they do this with everything. Screw their advertising and inferior products, just stop buying it. The worst thing Apple did was tap the ultimate moron market: coloring everything. Now even grills come in different colors. Do people have no attention spans? Jesus Christ, you are not an individual if you have a red blender.

So please people, do not watch Spider Man, even if you want to (if you do, you have other large problems I cannot deal with.) We have to stop tolerating all this damn advertising. Now, Terminator umpires is a product placement I would like, I like Questec's style...too bad Curt Schilling destroyed the Questec grid (http://www.spitter.com/spitter_questec.htm.)

If baseball wants to advertise, just do it on the walls like everyone else...stop invading new territory! We must make a stand.

see? Nader's not so bad after all....

I know he comes off as a phony sometimes, but a guy who has spent as long as he has at doing what he has..... he obviously cares about what he does.

Is he misguided sometimes? No question.

There has been talk around the sports business press that patches similar to the ones the Yankees and Devil Rays wore and other advertisements will be incorporated into all MLB uniforms within a few years.

You should look into Nader's League of Fans. They seek to give us fans a voice against the whining players and cheating owners. http://www.leagueoffans.org/

In separate promotions, the bases also will feature pink ribbons Sunday as part of a Mother's Day promotion to raise breast-cancer awareness, and they will have blue ribbons on Father's Day, June 20, to raise prostate-cancer awareness.

that does it, I'm sticking to hockey.

Yeah, you're right about that.

The Green Party of Florida was one of the few not to slate him as their presidential candidate. I can understand why because if Nader had not run in Florida, Gore would be president right now.

Or if Gore picked up his home state. ;)
