Can the real Miguel Cabrera stand UP!

I dont know why Conine hasnt gotten any playing time at 1B. Last night they could have put Nunez in the OF and moved Conine to first instead of giving Cordero another day. Nunez is obviously swinging the bat better than Cordero so give him more playing time.

Because the Marlins ARE shopping Easley and Cordero and they're NOT shopping Conine and Nunez.

a couple of weeks ago i wrote a post saying that miggy looked really bad in right field and sooner or later it was going to start affecting his bat and more than half the people on this site told i was to ahead of myself and didnt know what i was talking about well who's the dumby now....the marlins have to get the kid out of RF he has said it many times that he hates it there and third base is where he wants to be but to bad for him that we have an all-start there in m.lowell...some kind of move has to be done though cause you dont want one of your start players coming to the park unhappy everyday...

but would a move to LF for example make any difference?

he's playing tentatively out there. we've seen him go hard & dive for balls before, whether he catches them or not. but lately he just seems unsure of himself out there. it's almost like he just needs more time & practice out there.

Ed,

Putting together two of your themes (trade with Red Sox) and moving Cabrera to LF how about...

When the Trot Nixon and AJ Burnett return from DL:

Trot Nixon, Mark Bellhorn and Alan Embree (I doubt Williamson is available)

for

Carl Pavano, Wil Cordero and Damion Easley

The Marlins would then have an OF of Cabrera, Pierre and Nixon who would provide a solid LH hitter added to the lineup. Jeff Conine would slip to Cordero's slot platooning in the OF and with Choi at 1B. If AJ returns and is able to throw the ball well....it makes sense for us. As for the Sox, acquiring Pavano allows them to move one of their starters such as Kim to the pen. Cordero would fit in nicely with the Sox in a similar role he fills with the Marlins. Easley may start at 2B for them over Pokey Reese. Thoughts?

thats horrible

and a fantasy not only that but they have Gabe Kapler, Ellis Burks and if im not mistaken Brian Daubach ... why would they need Cordero

Nunez is a better fielder, but Cabs is the better hitter no doubt. This is called a slump Miggs is in. Every Player goes through it.

I doubt Cordero has much value since he wasnt pursued much in FA only guy I can see having value of the 2 you mentioned is Easely because hes a good hitting middle infielder that teams need.
