June 11, 200422 yr Both could easily be selected to go. If you look at contributions to team wins this year, we have won 11 of Pav's 12 starts, and 7 of Penny's 12 starts. So nod goes to Pavano for giving us a chance to win almost every game. But Jack could also select Penny, as a reward for his great WS performance last year, plus an excellent start to this year. Let's see how the next two weeks goes...since they are so evenly matched, the difference will be in their next several starts.
June 12, 200422 yr are you sure they broke up where did you hear this from? I choose pavano better pitcher
June 12, 200422 yr It's very close...either way works :cool Penny has a better ERA though, and has been more consistent.
June 12, 200422 yr It's very close...either way works :cool Penny has a better ERA though, and has been more consistent. Both Pavano and Penny have thrown 9 of 12 quality starts. Both have 6 wins. Penny may have the better ERA, but the team has won more of Pavano's starts. So it really is a toss-up, but I would put more weight on the number of games the team won when they start.
June 12, 200422 yr Pavano is the man though. I mean...the guy pitches more innings and gets out of jams. The guy'll load 1st and 2nd with no outs and gets the next guy to DP...and he does it time in and time out. Occasionally he gives up a hit there which casues the other team to score a run or two, but he only makes that mistake once in a game...Either way, it could go both ways... But I think Pavano has a better attitude than Penny, although I like them both, and i'll never forget Pav's game 4 of the WS...amazing stuff...
