June 24, 200422 yr Why does Chipper use a black bat when he bats right handed and a natural wood grain bat when he bats left handed? Superstitious?
June 24, 200422 yr Well, a grounder hit him in the face yesterday. yea saw that,he blamed it on the lights....but he did make a very nice play later in the game to turn a DP..
June 24, 200422 yr I wonder if anyone knows the answer to the question though, it is an interesting one
June 24, 200422 yr its probably a superstitious thing. give chipper time to get back into the groove at third. he will be fine there.
June 24, 200422 yr My uneducated guess would be bat weight. Probably needs more bat speed (and a ligter club) from one side of the plate. Hence the different bat, probably different wood and different paint.

So i say 19. LF. and last full season at third he had 12 errors. chipper isnt a great fielding third baseman by a long shot. but he is servicable and provides a nice stick.....which i would assume will come around eventually...he has had some injuries all year long.
