CapeFish
By the way he would not be the backup, he would play lefties and castro would play righties. It would be around 45% Red 55% Castro
Wild Card
So?
CapeFish
So why get rid of him, don't you think that if he becomes a Free Agent the Braves would snap him up as a bargain, get rid of javy and blanco and have him as platoon catcher with the guy they got from the phils for millwood. He would kill us everyday he saw us!
Wild Card
Trade Red... That's what I want to see... He's valuable and I am really anticipating Ramon's reign at Catcher...
Ramp
Red would not platoon with Johnny Estrada of the Braves....(red would sit bench) Castro and one of the kids from the minors is fine... Red makes this team tick? um ok... i like him, but he aint worth the money... Wild Card
Exactly... What is that one kids name, Josh Willingham on AA... He has been awesome... BTW: Does anybody have any idea why Josh Beckett is listed as being on the Jupiter Hammerheads roster? It also says that he has made a start for them this season... One in which he went 6 innings, gave up 0 ER, 4 hits, 1BB, and had 12 K's... Can anyone tell me what happened?
Mephisto
I think the marlins wont get rid of Redmond he's going to be the starter next year
Wild Card
NO... Ramon Castro has really already been dubbed the starter for next year, and with very good reason... Apparently you aren't aware of what Castro used to do in AAA... He was a very highly touted prospect, and hit . 328 with 27 HR's in his last season as a starter...(in the Minors)
CapeFish
Castro cannot catch every game, we need someone to back him up and minor league catchers are yet not fully developed. Redmond is a good player, have you no loyalty to players who make sacrifices for the team and play well whenever they play? Redmond is the foundation of this team. If you trade Redmond, it will be a fatal mistake.
Mephisto
Yes I know Castro did that in AAA but the fact is I think Redmond will be the starter for the beginnig of the year and slowly but surely he will get less playing time until he only faces lefties. Wild Card
Redmond isn't a starter. Everyone knows that. He is a very talented reserve. If trading Red means solidifying our Bullpen, then I would welcome a trade...
Ramp
trading Redmond will NOT hurt this team.....
Wild Card
Exactly... If anything it would help us... We would most likely trade him for 1-2 bullpens pitchers, which would help solidify our teams biggest flaw... Don't let your personal feelings toward Red effect what would best for the team...
