Well, I had hopes for this. I thought we had seen a marked improvement in him and he would finally not be coming in high pressure situations.

 

He pulled an Oliver and we're all very sad tonight indeed.

WHEN was the last time Bump pitched you a**holes? He hasn't pitched for almost two weeks. Ya know...maybe one of you perfect people should go out there and pitch if you think it's so damn easy. Talk about a bunch of a**holes! He is a starter and he's a damn good pitcher too. So f*** all of you!! Let's see if all the hitters can score any more runs today or against the Phillies. I'll bet the Marlins will get creamed. Ya know why? Jack ass McKeon has this whole team screwed up. Believe, I was in Pittsburgh and that man is a joke...just ask Cincinnati.

Yep Bump got hit...that happens sometimes. Jack didn't want him to walk anyone and he didn't. Have any of you ever pitched anything besides a bottle of beer? Believe me, I am sure he didn't want to do bad. Just think...it's his first MLB start. Probably all his family and friends are there. Of course he wanted to pitch well but sometimes you get hit.

I actually wished he had been left in Albuquerque a little longer to refine some of his pitches. He may end up back there but that's baseball!

Oh and I am not an idiot! Just upset about the way this are done in baseball and especially with the Marlins and especially after witnessing some crap in Pittsburgh.

Bump can't do anything to please most Marlins fans it seems. If he pitched a no-hitter they'd complain that he didn't pitch a perfect game. If he pitched a perfect game they'd say it was a fluke and that he'll tank next game.

 

It's almost irrational the hatred they have for him (and Oliver).

You act like this is the first time this guy (Bump) has pitched in the major leagues..friends and family isnt an excuse. The guy has had many opportunities and is inconsistent at best..and you are right...you dont walk batters with a 6 run lead. You dont have much success in the ML if you walk batters.

 

Blaming McKeon is a joke. If Oliver would have started, you guys would have biatched about that too. When you realize that these guys are not ML ready, you will be a little bit smarter.

It's the complete oppposite of how this board treats Cabrera or Mordecai or any number of guys.

If you don't think Bump has a chance in the majors you're living in a dream where every bullpen is filled with Benitez, Gagne, Rivera and Smoltz. Bump and the rest of our AAAA staff have adequate arms, and some of them hve good futures. Bump would be a decent starter somewhere with a defense willing to support him and a coaching staff able to handle him.

It's his first start, he hadn't appeared in eons... what would you have said if Beckett pitched that game? I for one hope that Nate gets another shot in Montreal, so he can show everyone that he can pitch effectively at this level.
