orlando sucks

Featured Replies

I went to Orlando today to do some shopping....why would anyone wanna live there. Traffic like crazy, the mall was sooooo crowded. I couldnt even find a place to eat at the food court. Literally about only half the people spoke spanish. These Asian dudes were waiting for a dressing room at the Polo store (over by Bass Pro Shops), and I tried telling them that all the doors were locked because when they are closed they automatically lock. The dude didnt understand me, he just tried opening every door. Dammit, Orlando sucks.

At least I got some cool shorts at Brooks Brothers (total class there) for my birthday--can't wear em till my birthday, or till i celebrate my birthday, since I'll be up at Furman by then...also got a nice Ralph Lauren Polo shirt, and some Polo seersucker pants. Oh, and a Bass Pro Shop hat (some girl was wearing mine when she was drunk and lost it).

You're shopping the weekend of tax-free and it's about a week before school starts for some of central Florida. Of course shopping places will be busy. Anyway, it sounds like you were down at the Belz Outlet place which I can't stand because it's touristy as Hell and the stores are kinda tacky except for like Polo. Anyway, I'm glad I live in Seminole County.

yah, definitely didnt realize it was the 1st tax-free day until I got there. I was at Florida Mall, then went over on I-Drive to Bass Pro Shop and across the street at the Polo store....the Florida Mall was disgustingly crowded....

I didn't even go I-Drive way....it woulda been hell probably....I went earlier this summer or spring sometime when I was home, and it was bumper to bumper w/all those lights. Traffic sucks, and I think Orlando might have the worst of it.

I haven't been to the Florida Mall in ages. About everyone speaking Spanish though, I've been calling it Upper Puerto Rico since I moved to Seminole County. It's nice going to places and everyone speaking English and not giving an attitude when you have the audacity to speak the native tongue.

yes, das. I expected there to only me and my brother. Not another soul. In fact, was it too much to ask that there be no salespersons there either? That way I could just take the stuff and leave.

:banghead

its the summer time, its flooded with tourists. and yes "theres traffic like crazy" just like every other city.

and orlando is a great city to live in :thumbup

oh hell yah Orlando >>>>> South Florida....

I love eastern Orange County...Christmas, Bithlo, all that area...it's awesome...I think we're lookin to get some property out there....near the St. Johns River (in my eyes, the St. Johns is the pride and joy of our state...it's such an awesome river, and so different than what it's like up in Jacksonville...and it flows north).

Tosahatchee State Reserve is really cool...I might try goin hunting there some if I'm down for Thanksgiving...

i saw a SWEET seersucker sports coat...I almost bought it, but I had bought too much...I'll get it eventually...it woulda been great for smokers, a little croquet, or maybe just walking to class on a windy day...

Florida is a beautiful state period! Unless you go to Jacksonville or Tampa Bay, the land is beautiful and the sky clear.

I dont like Tampa Bay, but Jacksonville is pretty cool. A lot of cool history in the area (Amelia Island is about 1/2 hr away, Southern Rock's roots, Freebird Cafe, St. Johns River and Intercoastal Waterway). I have 2 fraternity brothers who live there, and went here in April...had a BLAST. I love it there....it's a Southern city too (cough, unlike South Florida). But, I'm not a big fan of TB...Florida really is a beautiful state on it's own (minus the invasion and development)....I find the swamps to be gorgeous, and there is so much amazing wildlife....Alligators are quite possibly the coolest animal on the planet, the Everglades are awesome, the Big O is an amazing lake, and we have some cool rivers such as the St. Johns....and did I mention we have more coastline than any other state? It truly is an awesome state, even if it is "America's wang" - Homer Simpson

Only you Cape would consider going to Wal-Mart on Sand Lake Road when there are 10 other Wal Mart within a 10 miles radius in O-Town... :plain
