1. i didn't "assume" you were wrong about the 2nd base umpire timing the commercial breaks (something your link didn't address)...i even prefaced it with, "not to say i don't believe you," and asked where you heard it.

 

2. were i to "assume" you were wrong, the assumption could only be based upon the lack of such information in the rulebook or on google searches (the public domain), and not simply "because [i ] had not heard of it." i dont know a damn thing about how MLB telecasts are produced....how on earth could i assume something i don't know is wrong?

just off the top of my head, if i believed everything you said, i'd run around thinking everyone pees out bacteria, standard tires shred at speeds over 95mph, atlanta is half a mile over sea level, states would be legally required to recognize gay marriages from other states, miguel cabrera was picked to the all-star team by jack mckeon, orlando is slated for an expansion team soon, a bullet train would get more ridership than metrorail, and your SUV gives you 29 miles per gallon.

i watched the same ESPN all-star game show as you. they didn't mention he was voted in by the players but said nothing of whether or not jack picked him...when someone asked about it, you assumed he must have been chosen by jack, and, as expected, posted your guess as fact.

alkazoid, my SUV gets 26 miles per gallon. I live in Florida and the land is flat here. The MPG estimates there are based on a nationwide average including mountains and other rough areas.
