With LaTroy Hawkins struggling and Joe Borowski injured, the Cubs are toying with using former Reds starter Ryan Dempster as a closer. Quickly recovering from Tommy John surgery, Dempster has flashed his 95-mph fastball at Class AAA Iowa. ?It's worth an experiment,? Cubs GM Jim Hendry said. ?I wouldn't say on Sept. 1 he couldn't be the closer.?

already back to 95mph?

:banghead

we traded demp and cliff and got pavano, juan enc, and manzy. must say im pleased with those 2 deals, even if demp is comin back up

lol, manzy was not part of that deal.

It has nothing to do with whether the trades were good, Ramp is referring to the fact that we could have signed him as a free agent.

Dempster already back at 95 MPH? I wish him the best.

But i think we need a better reliever. We need another stopper like a Urbina or Fox.
