June 19, 200323 yr Author This seems to be a almost evenly divided issue. We have played well at the Pro, but it doesn't help our hitters at all. A pitcher who is dominating, dominates anywhere. We swept the Reds at GABP, 2 of 3 at Miller park and Arlington. It doesn't help as much as it hurts at this moment in time.

June 19, 200323 yr Author We've been good at home because our pitchers are comfortable pitching here. Let's say we get rid of the Bermuda triangle, how would that hurt the Marlin's pitchers? No one hits them out there unless it's a Marlin's hitter. The opponents don't play 81 games here, the Fish hitters do.

June 19, 200323 yr Author It's not like we are moving into Coors or bring in the walls to 200 ft. down the lines! Moving them in 2-5 ft at the lines and making it like a normal ballpark with no nooks and crannies along the cf wall. It would help. The marlins home field advantage is two-fold... 1) Good pitching because they like mound and feel of park. 2) Last to bat and possiblity of comeback. Moving in the walls that little won't hurt the Marlins pitching but help the Marlins hitting.

June 19, 200323 yr Author Over the last two games, Marlins' pitching would have not given up any more homers than they did, Marlins hitters would have gained 3-4 more HR's. Big Difference in close games.

June 19, 200323 yr Author Not really, we have never given up many HR's on the road. Why would they give them up at home? We are team the has power, we need to help ourselves win, not shoot ourselves in the leg. I say try it for a week and see how it works.

June 19, 200323 yr home runs are overrated. this team should focus on finding the gaps.... it would be much more effective in all parks.
